The funny accents, especiialy Glasgow & Liverpool, were probably the best things in life when I was a kid. This game ruled my life and tbh I would love to buy it for xbox, exact same crappy sound and picture quality, I would take it anyday. Sheer comedy and entertainment genius. BYE BYE!

The original worms was one of my favourite games. I have the original, plus the reinforcements expansion pack.

Does anyone know how to reliably run the original PC version of Worms on Windows XP or later?

Is there a re-release that is compatible?

I only like the original. I do not like any of the sequals. I don't find the physics as playable in later games in the series.

Two ways you can tell this is two computer-controlled teams fighting: (1) the perfect aiming, and (2) the piss-poor strategy. The worms keep hitting each other dead on for 50 damage, whereas a human would immediately notice ways to blow them into the water or off-screen by aiming at the ground next to them. No wonder it was so easy to beat the computer!

The problem with 3D Worms- bugs. Maps nowhere NEAR big enough. If the maps were the same size as the old school games, it'd be fucking brill.

Unofortunately not - there's a free demo you can get, or you can buy the disk off ebay for really cheap. The dosbox you'll need to play the game is freeware though.

did anybody else make really big elaborate fortresses out of girders and tunnels? i did ^_^ lol

right what i would do is go on a 2 player deathmatch, then use both controlled teams to make part of the forts one by one.(one worm dug holes, one worm made scaffolding etc.) it took a while but the end was always worth it. then id get my brother to fight me in the forts :P

Yeah, i did like the first Worms best, although it was kinda simple, with not many weapons and stuff. It had this special atmosphere. ;D It was nice to try out which world-codes would get you to these special-levels (like e.g. Cheese). Spent hours with that.
