@Mrsubase Because anyone worth a grain of salt as a musician knows that's it's not a competition. It's not about technical ability or proficiency. It's about feeling and sharing. Music exists above your trivial perceptions of it, don't spoil it, just enjoy it.
I was in the Dorset Youth Orchestra with Natalie. I remeber when she played it with us during rehersals standing in for the official soloist (whose name I forget). It totally blew us away. An utterly amazing, powerful sound.

Why would this lady chose to play the Elgar with any number of works out there for her to express her growing pains? Sure she is proficient enough, but what manner of painful competition is she attempting to set up? Each one of you knows well enough to whom I refer.
