@Canada303 Wow... What makes you assume we all are stoners? I rarely even touch alcohol, but I love Andy's playing. Just because something is slightly mellow and is an instrumental track does not make it music for stoners. Andy is regarded, rightly so, as one of modern rock's best players, and I think that speaks more than you accusing people of being stoners.
This is one of those guitarists who have understood how the guitar should be used. One of those who really shows what a fantastic instrument the guitar is. A guitar can be played in a billion different ways. When you have understood that the guitar is an extent of yourself, that's when you become one of the greatest guitarists in the world.
I like that it's real and you can hear every sound he's trying to present, not like alot of players that play like this---"chippity chop, chippity chop,i'm trying to be goodchippity suck,i'm trying to be the best so you like me,chippity junk fuzz"
andy literally could not have made that solo sound and look more amazing. he plays the way you dream to play to an audience, gives me tingles everytime
He's such a tasty player. If we all liked the same guys how boring would music be. There's a player for everyone. For me it's him and Luke. For you it could be Slash. Long live guitar playing. The best most emotive instrument there is.
2:30 what i like most about his playing, is he can shred REALLY well but only uses it as it should be used, as a single tool in a large box of song enhancing techniques!
Just can't stop listening. It's like his soul is in this song. I have been listening Andy Timmons obsessfully for almost an year for now, and he puts so much of his soul in his songs, that it feels like I know this guy. It's like we're old friends now. This song is just beautiful, you can feel his agony.
@junqueirapedro13 I had the blessing to play with Andy twice and as great as he is, he is twice as humble. He does not take his gift for granted. This guy can play anything well. Keep listening.
0:00 cry foy you??? sound good 0:06 great intro 0:40 I feel that I need 1:27 are you 1:40 I remember when you were by my side 2:20 that is the force with which to love you 2:50 now I am alone... i miss you 4:03 I feel better :') 4:39 but again miss you 5:20 there are tears in my eyes... I'm crying 6:10 I think I should go on without you :'( 7:17 some tears
@li70o4:03 my favorite part sounds like the guitar is shouting, i am still amaze every time i watched this. I am fortunate to watch him play live and got a picture and autograph =) cheers from Manila!
The best of the best...number one guitar at this time...the music in general has the effect of been seductive, passion is here the style is more like unique, I like the most is excellent peace of classic rock music, not to common in that unique style raise by you..all of you are the best.....congratulation
I’m addicted to YouTube, so it will be very difficult taking a break ;-) I don’t used to comment, what I thought you had written because else I could spent all my time on it. There are too many who talks about some skilled guitar player like; "well but he is not just as good as Jimi Hendrix or Justin Bieber", and other people loves to talk about an intelligent concentrated musician like John Petrucci that he has no feelings and he is playing like a robot.
@davidbahar There is no reason to get pissed off. I’m just telling you how shred is composed because it sounds like you’re not aware of it.
Go see “Andy Timmons Band plays Sgt. Pepper - Guitars, Amps and Effects“ and listen to what he says at 1:30. – It has taken Andy Timmons TWO YEARS to making a Beatles record. That would probably take Eric Clapton two days to make his version. – And why, well every tone is written down. Well for amatuers like me it will almost only be very remembered.
I love this track. Andy has that rare combination of great technique and feel which is why he gets so much emotion into his playing. Can't wait to hear the new Sgt Pepper album.
@davidbahar You are totally wrong Mr sensible blues man. Andy Timmons is a Berklee College of Music shredder which means everything is noted accept the whole solo. Go listen to the original version and you will hear the comparison.
I've been listening to all kinds of rock consisting of thousands of artists for nearly 13 years (23 yrs old) and I've thought I've heard them all. Just this week i learned of Andy Timmons and I am stunned that I'm just hearing of this guy now. This man has serious talent, soul, and skill. Respect.
@Tript141 Yeah, I know what you feel like. I was also blown away by this guy's sound! He's really talented! Although I'm only 16, I also believe that I have seen my fair share of incredible music!
Well, i guess it just goes to show that you can never run out of amazing music like this (hopefully!)
@Tript141 ah, I still remember the day I found Andy, it was a great day - 6 years ago. I still remember, cos he's one of my favourite players to this day. and 6 years after here I am still listening to this song every now and then.. :)
@Tript141 Some other players you might want to look up here on youtube: Guthrie Govan, Alex Hutchings, Marco Sfogli, and also Tommy Emmanuel. Good Luck! All the best to you!
Simon Philips on drums? One of the best! Andy's tone here is way better than the studio version of the same song, IMHO. Man, his phrasing is just remarkable. Almost like he's on the edge and about to stumble, but never does, so the intensity and excitement are always there.
He's getting very excited there but fuck it, let him, at the end of the day it's one of his greatest hits if not the greatest. This piece always makes me tremble...
Anyone know if his ibanez AT100 on this vid has the seymour duncan JB he used to use or the newer dimarzio AT-1 he switched to after the JB? His tone and playing are incredible throughout this vid!
fcking epic song.... damn.
