...I've been flabbergasted by the number of folks who've spoken to me of relatives lost in that war.  We're coming up on the 150th anniversary in 2011, and we must never forget...

Thanks Jim, very nice work. I'm moved. So powerful. Your message honors the sacrifice made by these young men. My great grandfather was one who returned from General Sherman's march to the sea. With the 38th Volunteer Infantry Regiment he left Norwich NY by barge on the Chenango Canal to Utica and then South by rail to muster out of New York City, then south by rail.

Great song to chronicle this celebration. Having just watched the 10 part HBO series the Pacific brought home the message to me as I had an uncle who fought and survived Pelileu where 75% of our boys didn't come back -literally. Jim Clare does a wonderful job on his great song!!
