@SecretAgent194 the Battousai would have lost or won very closely. However, Shishio would have died many times over with Kenshin and a real sword. Before the Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki, Kenshin got many sakabatou hits. A real sword would have killed Shishio or at least made some kind of difference.

Shishio and most of Kenshin's foes knew they were up against an unusual adversary: one who was strong enough to defeat them, but always gave them the edge due to his vow not to kill.

Kenshin is using a Sakaba, also known as a reverse blade. The cutting side is on the inside of the blade, unlike a normal katana. He hit Shishio with the flat edge. But if Kenshin hit with the cutting edge, he was cut in half without doubt.

Ive watched my fare share of animes... but i dont think of myself as some anime expert. Although i like to watch most of my animes subbed, i think the Kenshin is one of the better dubs. It may not be "Cowboy Bebop-well done" dubbed, but hearing Kenshin (the series, not just Himura) in english is actually pretty good, especially Hiko and Saito.
