I remember several times when they had trouble keeping the Bonus platform from crashing into the far wall. Did those clips ever make it onto TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes?
@tpir1972 I think it has happened a couple times, as a matter of fact. But the reward (as far as I know) was the same as for making it through 10 "safe" spins, which was a $5,000 win + prizes. It's too bad I can't find any of those particular episodes here, though.
@jskf622 The Devil's face is bad enough and mean enough and there is a Joker's Wild slot machine in Atlantic City that has that Devilish laugh if he comes up on it
I can't remember if anyone ever got 3 bullseyes on the first spin. Oh and in doing some research I found that Jim Lang is a native of Minnesota. (From Wikipedia): "Lange began his radio broadcasting career in the Twin Cities after winning an audition as a teenager. He graduated from St. Thomas Academy high school, before going to the University of Minnesota."
Thanks for uploading this. I loved Bullseye and remember watching it in the 1980's (which seems so long ago now). Jim was a great host on here as well as The Dating Game.
The gameboard was the #1 reason I loved watching BULLSEYE.The funny thing is in the earilier episodes Jim would cover his eyes and turn away if lightning struck but in 1981 when Judy struck lightning,Jim would hang the mike down and also hang his head down.
Did anyone playing the bonus round ever actually stop and take the money? It seems like once you have one window frozen with a bullseye, the odds are in your favor to just keep going for 10 spins or the remaining bullseyes.
hey mtiller can you post more Bullseye episodes with the main game & the bonus round from the celebrity edition also. And more original episodes too. By the way I remember seeing a clip on Bullseye during an episode where someone spun lightning in the bottom window & jim lange walked over and said: there goes the blinds. Have you come across anything like that before ? Please send me a reply. ASAP!!! Your Friend, NCC1017
Another B&E bonus game that involves the dreaded bad guy. TTD had the Dragon, TJW had the Devil, PTP had the zero, and Bullseye had lightning. Earlier episodes of Bumper Stumpers had the Stop Sign.
Correct me if I'm wrong but, Hot Potato was a B&E show. Didn't Hot Potato have a non-bad guy bonus game. It was pick the right answer to a question, out of two possible answers.
Don't forget the 21 pilot in 1982 when the bad guy was the computer who the opponent wishes that the CPU doesn't have a higher number than the opponent's own, but he/she can make the CPU bust to win the package.
@SuperGamer7 Neither did Play the Percentages.. Break the Bank's bad phrase was the word "Bust" and if anyone picked it in the bonus game they lost their money that was accumilated to that point. Play the Percentages' bonus game was not picked the answer that had no respone to a question at all and if anyone had picked that answer as Geoff Edwards would say "your out of business".
This was the "NBC Bullseye" set. No difference except it aired at the NBC Studios in Burbank - the same exact studio where "Scrabble" and "Hit Man" were produced.
THe bonus round is enough to make you dizzy. It's true to Barry & Enright being straight luck; although I think it has more strategy in it. It's similar to FACE THE DEVIL in TJW but the difference is that you can freeze a slide & risk getting more money. Even though it's a gamble I don't know if anyone would really leave the windows open if Lightning was still out there. The level of difficulty is non-existant because with probabilty everywhere it's unpredictable. THe bonus round is 4 stars.
We have a CLASSIC gameshow over here in the U.K called Bullseye that ran from 28th September 1981 to 8th July 1995. But it was a darts game. It has now bin remade since 2007.

I thought you also won if you amassed $1000 or more without hitting the lightning. Does anyone know if this is correct?

She got ripped off for the 4th spin it showed $200 in the window and then changed to $100.

The Lightning on Bullseye and the Dragon on Tic Tac Dough use to scare the Hell out of me as a child. Now I know that they weren't scary at all.

@jskf622 Don't forget the Devil on the Joker's Wild

@5780talon I'd probably would be scared of the Devil, if you heard a Devilish laugh after he appeared.

To hear that Helen has no luck in the Bonus or Bullseye Island for 4 bonus games that is quite a shame.

The sound effect for the dizzy swirls also came from the 21 pilot is used for the CPU in the bonus game.

That guy in the Lane furniture print ad: Jesus, talk about the blowdryer look. We had poofy hair in the late 70's/early 1980's. i know i did.

For some reason, as soon as that lightning hit, I heard the TPIR losing horns go off in my head.
