The reason reds are dying out is not because reds are being attacked by greys but because greys carry a virus they are immune to which the reds are not!

Well, firstly contrary to popular belief and media hatred for grey squirrels,they do NOT! KILL Red Squirrels. That my friend is a mail Red Squirrel chasing a female Grey Squrrel. All squirrels will chase each other regardless of colour. I have Greys and Reds living in the same location and there is equal numbers of both.Have seen 2 reds and 1 grey all berrying nuts together.

The grey squirrels are more dominant than the red one, they eat more they mate with each other more often... but they don't kill the red ones. The grey ones are as lovly as the red ones. If you want to shoot something then shoot the idiots that brought the grey ones to Europe (if they still live)!

I put some peanuts outside for the squirrels, but the red squirrel didn't let anything else eat any. There was a much longer chase than this. I got some more video of it, but the quality wasn't good enough to post on YouTube. The red squirrel at the end of this clip let the grey squirrel get away, but there were several times where the red squirrel tackled the grey squirrel!
