sas familia kama hii... Rent 16,000 (2 bed), Elect (8,000), Food 10,000, fare 10,000....and that is when they are on a tight budget... How many ppl can afford that... This govt. ... i'm out of words...
I thought the sleeping baba Jimmy suspended all travels abroad. Why then was Kiraitu not in the house to respond to the question? Was he at another PDM meeting? I am so tired of these idiots...
These are the results of corrupt systems. KPLC is all concerned with milking its customers really hard. Am over 100%sure that they are using these proceeds to overpay their staff esp those on management level. The minister is busy starting new party for 2012. What a pity to the c'mon man?
I would go solar if I lived in Kenya. The government doesn't seem to be coming out and helping out Kenyans. Either allow competition and stop the monopoly of KPLC
the KPLC and ken Gen are really milking the wananchi..this issue needs to b addressed very urgently..Government should also b considering other sources of energy.otherwise the average kenyans won`t afford power!
Kenya has an installed power capacity 1, 480 mega watts of power, including temporary emergency power of 290 megawatts, but is currently supplying about 1050 megawatts at peak time just enough to meet its demand.
The Mumias sugar deal on starting to produce energy and selling it to KPLC is such a bright idea. The likes of Ibera Africa are doing quite well.
thats cool then...shida ni the manager @ Mumias sasa. He/she will exaggerate operating costs and pass them on to consumers. See now either way clients, Citizens, are screwed!
Not only is it expensive now, in early 2008 the power bills tripled for 3 months. A friend of mine who works for KPLC said that there was a rumour that KPLC 'lent' money to PNU to campaign with, and was overcharging customers for a few months to 'recover' what it lent out to PNU. Perhaps this was true, and maybe now KPLC is raising money for other political reasons
The answer is renewable energy. The government should find a way to either require KPLC to dedicate capital to green energy or at the very least assist in funding green energy companies in the country.
Today I have concluded one thing, Ababu Namwamba is not as educated as he purports reason being KenGen was refused to increase price to KPLC and secondly it KPLC buys power from other indepdent producers.
Of course the Minister was busy campaigning for 2012. The Gov't is ripping off Kenyans- Ken Gen ought charge for power directly why create a another red tape KPLC? Kiraitu ni aache madharau!

Power production is the next big business in Africa.People should think of it than getting their money in the NSE.

right....green na solar is way to go. NSE insider dealings na politicking is too risky for small savers.
