Climb rate of typhoon is c50,000 ft/min, they reached 6000 ft in ~20 secs; so the plane could climb faster under full military power. But up to say 40K ft it literally is like a rocket, it would keep up with Soyuz or the Space Shuttle.
I hope to be in RAF when i'm older fixing typhoons, my summer camp at RAF Coningsby was awesome --- Typhoons were buzzing round on loads of sorties when the russians were causing trouble, my dream to fly in typhoon, the engineer who works on typhoon said he has had a flight in one, so that makes me more determined to join RAF very soon!!!!

Can't believe I missed this.. May you are one lucky man! Typhoon has better thrust to weight than the Raptor and boy does that thing climb.

When someone like James May reacts as he did when they began to climb from take-off you know this is a very special machine indeed.
He has a good technical appreciation and this must have been the limit.

I'll have to wait 20 years when the Eurofighter is decommissioned and rides in it will still be like £10000... I'll start saving now.
