Yes yes, we all know about telomerase. Except that anything found to enhance its activity has been bashed in conferences by other scientists saying it might cause cancer. And as we all know, cancer cells have unchecked telomerase activity, thus immortal as well.
I read the article, and this was based purely on clinical trials. Just put it in patients and see what happens. Very un-scientific. So they have no clue how it does that. Plus, the confidence level wasn't very high either. It could be due to anything. For one thing, clinical trials determined that stress level is related to telomeres as well, so too many factors.
Thsi is what I found: "The biotech company Geron Corporation has determined that a molecule from Astragalus propinquus root called TA-65 is a telomerase activator. According to PRNewswire, TA Sciences, has a license from Geron to sell TA-65 and is now selling it as a neutraceutical anti-aging product at their TA Sciences Center in New York City."
-I was hoping for something more radical, not a mere tonic. If this is all we might as well stick to green tea.
is there a better way to elongate the telomeres? Is astragaloside same with telomerase? and what is the delivery system? are there better delivery systems using nanotech that may become available soon?
I understand, and its a good point but in combination with histone deacetylase inhibitors (when not using astragaloside), anti cancer foods - like cacao, turmeric, resvertrol etc.., using immune stimulation and reduction in toxic food I have no concern...
good work! I am using atragaloside 4 for regrowing my telomeres... :-) Can you tell me; what cells aren't influnenced by telomeres, and what causes their death?
Experiment on mice first, not only you can avoid messing up your health but get results much faster. Telomeres protect stem cells, which all cells draw information from.
i prefer to experiment on myself - if I feel like crap then I will stop it, but if I feel good then I will continue...cant see how telomerase stimulation would be bad, unless you have any ideas?
Well it is your body. But yeah telomerase therapy should be a relatively safe and simple one because basically aging cascades from demaged DNA and the other aging factors can be pretty much avoided with a healthy regime and good cells. What's the method you're using to stimulate your telomerase? Atragaloside 4? RNAi? Just for safety get your figures right, like what's the level of telomerase of non-aging animals (some types of turtles, hydras), exactly what proteins you are using and stuff.
Yeah I use astragaloside, for protein I use cacao mainly and I have just starting using beta ecdysterone as well to improve protein synthesis. On my times when not using astrag I try to use as many anto cancer substanses as possible - like goji, spinach, turmeric, resveratrol. Soon i'll get some suplphoraphane as well. If you want some astragaloside give us a shout and I can direct you...
Pudo ser mucho mejor :-(

Have you all heard the amazing news that broke this week?
It turns out that the components in Omega-3 fish oil (DHA and EPA) lengthen telomeres, or at least slow their shortening.
ABC News with Diane Sawyer had a great segment on it.

I don't think you're doing such a good thing... All this data is experimental and unsafe...
