@999bloke. University staff at USC are top industry figures, whom are still active in industry. Many of them had been faculty heads at other uni's across Australia. Maybe you should get your facts right before posting. I suppose the millions of dollars the university has gained in grants over the last few months are lacking too?...USC's courses are updated frequently, something the larger universities don't have the luxury to do. To put it politely...you are a tool.
@triplestep1829 Well actually its not, seeing as the ranking everyone views uni's by is research output and is =/= to uni size. USC is ranked as the best regional journalism university as well, so ergo, don't even talk.
@Patrunic well, thats a HUGE call. wanna put any more parameters on that champ? the best 'regional', 'journalism' university. what an achievement. all bow down before the worst university in queensland, 3rd worst in australia because it has an ok journalism course in relation to universities outside of metropolitan areas. praise be to USC, its finally arrived as a legitimate place of education. sit down and shut the fuck up retard, USC is a joke of uni, and its statistically proven. you lose.
@triplestep1829 You see I commented on that because theres where my DIRECT experience is, because, unlike you I don't comment on things where my experience is lacking (something you clearly have no problem with). And ignore the fact I already addressed the ranking (which is inapplicable to actual university quality). How about I address your incredible stupidity? Statistically it has the highest rate of graduate satisfaction, higher average lecturer averages of education than average, so ha.
@Patrunic I'M stupid, yet you put "higher average lecturer averages of education than average" and I'm supposed to make head or tail of that? So it has the highest rate of graduate satisfaction? woopdy fucking do. you go to uni to get jobs, it doesnt have the highest rate of employer satisfaction. my experience comes from the most direct and applicable ranking of quality, where as your petty worrying over how the rankings are tested is just sulking over your uni under performing. ITS SHIT.
@triplestep1829 Fine, let me correct myself, it has a higher than average ratio of lecture education levels to industry experience, and so let me get this straight, a clearly uneducated "sportsman" (used in loosest terms possible) is judging a university based on what? A ranking which is by its very nature bias against new universities? How about looking at UQ then, having its engineering degree certification retracted twice in 10 years, an event thats happened to no courses at usc. GTFO troll.
@Patrunic you use the term 'sportsman' loosely for someone whose represented australia? sigh, this is too easy. you can cry, bitch, moan, weep, and carry on all you like, none of those matter. USC got ranked badly. I go to a distance education uni that ranked higher. lets put that in perspective. a university where the students teach themselves, got ranked higher than a uni with a full faculty. all these trivial one off examples pale in comparison to the generalized statistic that USC is shit.
@triplestep1829 IN RESEARCH CONTRIBUTIONS. Which part of that don't you understand? Doesn't your 'awesome' distance ed uni teach you how to read? Your uni which I'm assuming is CQU is ranked higher because its been around longer, ergo larger research base. So tell me how more PHD contributions makes a uni better? I'm sorry if the concept of a big number in one area doesn't make a uni the best is hard to understand, but you're just stupid beyond belief.
@Patrunic show me a poll, or a ranking that puts USC above USQ. you admitted yourself CQU is ranked higher because its been around longer, which concedes there is merit to the poll and the only reason USC is shit is because its new. nevertheless not changing the fact its shit. I have a statistical ranking placing USC as the worst in the state. show me otherwise. and no more of your 'we have the best male tutors from victoria standing on one leg on a tuesday' trivial bullshit.
@Patrunic youve failed so many times, in forming a coherent sentence "higher average lecturer averages of education than average" which speaks to your lack of english skills, in judgement, saying an international athlete isnt worthy of being called a sportsman, which speaks to your lack of world experience, and as an interrogative journalist, just assuming I go to CQU. thus first hand experience USC produces bad students, directly linked to its poor showing on the rankings.
@triplestep1829 Funny how you removed a comment...maybe you did what I did where one makes a common mistake? given that this is youtube, not a fucking grammar, spelling and error free essay section. But again apologies that that clearly makes me illiterate. And I never said international athletes aren't worthy of being called a sportsman, I said YOU are not, make sure that's clear. About the assumption you goto CQU? I visited your youtube profile and saw you are a coolum local. journalistic? nub
@Patrunic you must still be a teenager cause your entire argument is flawed. I removed a comment cause it wasnt attached as a reply to you, so I copied it and resent it as a reply. otherwise you might have missed me destroying you. circular logic: saying international athletes are sportsman, but me, an international athlete, is not a sportsman. you didnt address the CQU mistake, you just switched over to the fact that you can read a youtubes bio section. one more stupid reply and im blocking you
look at the good universities guide Compared to other universities in QLD, seems like the students think the university is good, however graduate outcomes, resources, grants, staff qualifications, entry rquirements are lacking. Students of other universities are not as happy, however their outcomes are better. Maybe because other universities are teaching the hard content USC isnt willing too. short term pain for long term gain at other uni's
What a croc of shit. This ad makes me ashamed to be a USC alumni. I don't understand what selling points you are trying to convey.... USC has always been thought of as 'super TAFE' and this ad does nothing to dispel this. I'm going to roll up me degree and smoke it.
Great ad! I'm not a student but moved from Brisbane to Sunshine Coast 3 years ago and feel so sorry for Brisbanites now! We have the best life ever here.
USC - "Ok, soo, turns out we are 39th out of 41 universities in Australia and the lowest scoring university in Queensland... but errr... we have a beach."
P.S. in the same survey that gave USC 5 stars for "good teaching", it also gave them 1 star for research grants, research intensity, toughness to get in, cultural diversity, success in getting a job, graduate salary and positive graduate outcomes.
