Since then I've build a bigger stroker motor (and ag tires instead of the 44" boggers) and I do have a 300hp wetshot of nitrous on board now (Zex system). 390s are great motors, in my previous truck I built up a 428. FE motors are considered old school now but they are still as tough as nails and have great potential..
My uncle had a 460 bored and all with cj heads on it running 110 or whatever higher octane he could get his hands on. it was in a bronco, the original big ones. He would leave it in high 2nd and go. He was popping the clutch one time to make it hop and snapped a 1 ton rear end.

Seth can drive just fine. I think that Chevy was suction stuck deep in the goo so the first pull had to break it. A rear mount radiator is s.o.p. for serious mud boggers. The fans are obviously for the radiator. The motor is a 460 stroked to a 514. 613 hp with another 200hp No2 shot on top of that.
Right on, I have a '76 with a 460, this one is a little more serious though... that's a good idea. Do the fins on the radiator get bent alot when its up there? And where the heck do you run the coolant hoses? Thats gotta be an expensive pain in the ass on a ford with that thermostat sitin the way it does...
No, its really not that big of a deal. I run a thermostat with a bleeder on the engine that that takes care of getting the air out. Fins on the rad don't get bent at all, as they out of harms way. As far as buildups go, I have a couple different articles regarding specific features both on pirate and nwu.
mud boggers frequently relocate their radiators because in the traditional position they get clogged QUICK in deep mud, not to mention if you've got mud in your fans youre going to bend and break them to shit, so the fans in the back is to cool the re-mounted radiator, up high and in the back where its unlikely to get sucked down and clogged in all the mud.

A rear mount radiator is s.o.p. for serious mud boggers. The fans are obviously for the radiator. The motor is a 460 stroked to a 514. 613 hp with another 200hp No2 shot on top of that.

Right on, I have a '76 with a 460, this one is a little more serious though... that's a good idea. Do the fins on the radiator get bent alot when its up there? And where the heck do you run the coolant hoses? Thats gotta be an expensive pain in the ass on a ford with that thermostat sitin the way it does...

No, its really not that big of a deal. I run a thermostat with a bleeder on the engine that that takes care of getting the air out. Fins on the rad don't get bent at all, as they out of harms way. As far as buildups go, I have a couple different articles regarding specific features both on pirate and nwu.

mud boggers frequently relocate their radiators because in the traditional position they get clogged QUICK in deep mud, not to mention if you've got mud in your fans youre going to bend and break them to shit, so the fans in the back is to cool the re-mounted radiator, up high and in the back where its unlikely to get sucked down and clogged in all the mud.

I've had the same motor in my K-5 since I bough the truck (motor was a crate motor bored to a 383) I beat the FUCK outta my truck, I have a led foot and the goddamn thing still runs as strong as the day I bought it! Oh by the way, if you are implying that the IFS suspension system pales in comparison to the solid axle, it'd be about time Ford got something right(by default really). I dont own a newer Chev but I have buddies that do and they all say the same thing, "It's all in how you build it".
