  • This should really be on iTunes like so bad it's sad I want to get it soooo bad it's amazing

  • He was wealthy but he was no gentleman. Made most of his money as a slave trader. You could probably say that he came from the lower classes of the time.

  • Whatever about Jim at the Alamo, he had already long proved to be an immensely courageous leader and fighter, in many other battles. His presence there at the Alamo held the men together, along with Crockett and Travis.

Travis had also proved his unconquerable bravery many times, and in many ways was the spark plug of the revolution.

  • Corny as Hell and so politically incorrect, still it's typical of the theme songs for TV shows of the 50s. I may be wrong, but I don't think there's a theme song on TV today that actually has lyrics?

  • @Hassar600 Well, anything that tells the truth and tells it bluntly and like it is without beating around the bush is "politically incorrect." And there probably is a theme song on TV today that actually has lyrics. Despite anything you say, this is awesome!

  • An alcoholic hillbilly with a great big knife, yeah I'd run too.

  • @hmldjr Alcoholic hillbilly? Strange, I thought Jim Bowie was a wealthy gentleman. Knife fighting takes skill, and he had it. This is probably a little exaggerated, but it's still awesome!

  • remember the alamo

  • @MRBIGDADDY19321 Amen.

  • My husbands name Jim Bowie but no knife!!

  • @ARTERSLAWN how'd he get the last name bowie?

  • @koviack Um... it was his father's name. And then his father's father's. And then his father's father's father's.

  • @johnw9171 should probably get him a knife for Christmas, just sayin'

  • I find it ironic, nay funny, that so many ppl want to stress that David Crockett surrending to the mexicans and then being executed is an accurate retelling of the Alamo battle despite proof of that occurring being questionable at best, yet nobody cares if everyone believes Jim Bowie died fighting, even though every historian agrees that he was either already dead or too weak to move by the time they got him.

  • @hulkmeister23 I agree. The main source of the story that Crockett surrending and pleading innocence of rebellion is a Mexican army officer who was staunchly loyal to Sant Anna, so his objectivity is definitely in question in my mind.

  • @Toneytc I think the only reason ppl take it seriously is because it's backlash from the Davy Crockett craze of the 1950s. He just became another celebrity that we try to bring down to our level.

In reality folks, Davy Crockett died in battle, and Jim Bowie didn't kill any mexicans cuz he was already dead disease!

  • @hulkmeister23 Yes, this is an exaggeration. But that's because it's a legend. Jim Bowie really did exist just like Davy Crockett. Even if the legends aren't completely true, they're still awesome!

  • @johnw9171 Well, I knew that.

  • @Toneytc That army officer was a bold-faced lier!

  • @johnw9171 Yes, probably.

  • man we are awsome 180 men vs 10000 mexican and 9000 mexicans dead plus 9 more from jim

  • the legend is even though Bowie was on his death bed he killed 9 mexicans before they got him

  • Rest in Peace Mr. Parker. You are greatly missed.

  • Man, Fess Parker 's songs are awesome. RIP Fess Parker.

  • indeed he was the greatest hero in my eyes

  • You'd better run from Bowie's knife. That thing was a stinkin' butcher knife!!!
