@ACSBehemothHellcat The vessel is facing downstream, so with the lower pressure we were running her on, it was easier to roll her astern with the current rather than pushing against it.

@Dolphindream15 The Delta Queen Preservation Foundation is attempting to purchasse the boat and return her to service. She does not belong as a hotel. Vickie Webster, protoge of the legendary Betty Blake, is the spokeswoman for the organization. Oberstar was voted out of office...now lets hope the Queen will return to the rivers soon.

I hope that when she does return to the river there will be news coverage,,,she is a historic ship,,,I had the honer of  going to california in 2009 and seeing her sister ship the Delta King,,,a grand ship she is,,,all though the Delta King didnt have the Rich life the Delta Queen had,,but both served in war during ww2,,they had NO RIGHT TAKING HER OUT OF SERVICE,SHE PASSED ALL THE SAFTEY INSPECTIONS do keep me posted on anything more

@Dolphindream15 I am not hopeful. I was mistaken in a comment last year that the Delta Queen Preservation Foundation wanted to buy the boat. It was an organization called "Save The Delta Queen 2010" and the organization failed to raise the funds. The Queen was bought by some other company and I have not heard what their plans are. As far as I know she is still a prisoner in Chattanooga, a city where she does not belong, and still a pathetic floating hotel that I will never visit.
