OMG I THINK VALVE FORGOT TO REMOVE THIS FROM PORTAL 2.

When I was trying to make a map, I saw a texture, Source Filmmaker. Then I added the commandline -tools it didn't start. But I removed it and it worked. Then I added a random commandline -mdsklfdals it still worked. So Valve might have forgot to remove it from Portal 2, but they made it impossible for other people to open it.

If you look in ANY of the source games, there is an ifm texture folder, which contains the Source Filmmaker textures.

Try typing -tools in the normal TF2 startup options. It doesn't start.

I never said they didn't leave it in, I just said it's there for all of the Source game, not just Portal 2. But Portal 2 does have some extra stuff in the materials...

Valve probably either: left SFM in the files on purpose, and just blocked it, or the -tools launch option just leads to some code which quits the game.

You cannot use Team Fortress 2, or the Steam Version of Team Fortress 2-Beta because the Team Fortress with the Source Filmmaker in it is the 2007 Pre-Release Beta, not the 2010 (I think) Team Fortress 2-Beta.

There IS a virus or two in the torrent. HOWEVER you can avoid them. Use an Antivirus program to identify the viruses after you download the files. DO NOT run ANY of them before doing so. One virus should be in the compressed folder FINAL_FIXX_ADVANCED. Scan this, find the virus and you can extract all the files except the virus.

After you install the TF2 beta, there should be a virus in that folder too. Scan for it and delete it. You should be fine after that, just be sure to scan EVERYTHING!
