@ShadowRaptor360 what is the latest IDT High Definition Audio CODEC for windows xp 32 bit?

there are a lot of versions but i dont know which one to download, there is:

1) IDT High Definition Audio CODEC, Driver Manufacturer: IDT

2) IDT High Definition Audio CODEC, Driver Manufacturer: SigmaTel

so which one of these Manufacturers am suppose to download?

* my Mixer Device in Volume control is only SigmaTel Audio, is that suppose to mean that i should go for SigmaTel Driver Manufacturer or IDT?!

if your having trouble with sigmatel audio driver and you had it installed previously then try this goto run and copy and paste this C:\Cabs\D00664-001-001\Setup.e­xe.

Okay, my SigmaTel has been replaced with IDT, but I can't get the IDT audio control panel to open. It just acts like it's loading for a few seconds and then stops without doing anything, so I still can't get Stereomix (and my settings already show any disabled or disconnected programs). What do I do?

@11gusher I still can't get the control panel to open, but I did find a different solution. I bought a 3.5mm male-to-male-ended stereo audio cable to connect my audio jack to my microphone jack and--since I was recording with Camstudio--I changed the settings to record from the mic instead of the speakers. This makes the sound go directly from the speakers to the mic, so you can effectively record from the speakers that way.

@11gusher Also, if you use headphones, get a 3.5mm stereo audio splitter and connect the audio cable to one jack and your headphones to the other so you can listen to what is being recorded. I got both the cable and the splitter at Radio Shack for like $12, but I'm sure you can get them for much cheaper on a site like Amazon, unless you already have a cable and splitter lying around your house. Hope this helps--it worked for me.

@AnemosThrowback but that means you wont be able to hear what youre casting, right? :(

@duffchick58 Actually, if you use an audio splitter you can plug in your headphones and the cable into the headphone jack at the same time so you can hear what's being sent to the mic. =D

A problem I later discovered was you can't record your own commentary and the audio being recorded at the same time, even with a splitter in the mic jack too--it will only record the audio. I haven't fixed this yet, but I suspect a usb microphone might work, or better yet using an external recording device.

that still allows you to cast with no audio delay and you're able to hear the cast?

@jokkobengo if you dont have any sound, it means it wasnt compatible re install the old driver from the CD that came with your computer or from drivermax

This removed my SigmaTel and replaced with IDT High Definition Audio CODEC but the problem is i get a message saying (about the IDT...)

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

I downloaded the IDT driver. It installed correctly, but when I opened the IDT audio settings Stereo Mix was not there.

I'm quite sure I went through the entire process correctly. Do you have any other further suggestions. I am using a Gateway MT6705 notebook with a SigmaTel audio driver.
