I remember when Nat died. It was on the front page of our city newspaper. My dad really liked him...he had 3 or 4 LPs that I remember. But it wasn't until I was older that I really appreciated them. I now realize the timelessness of his music...& how much I miss my father, John (1909-1973)...R.I.P., Dad...David :(

This was a song my Papa used to sing to my nana, they were 53 years married last February, sadly he passed away on the 14th of October 2011. I was his only Granddaughter, so we were truly close. It was so upsetting when I found out the news. He had macular degeneration and could only see out of the side of his eyes, but he was an energetic man. I cry every time I hear this song.

"Too Young" was our song in '51 when we were married on June 30th. Just celebrated our 60th anniversary! My husband was in the Navy and in radioman school at Naval Air Station in Norfold, VA. He was later on the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain and in Korean waters. We are still very much in love and thankful the Lord has been with us thus far.

My father died last week. This was his and Mom's song. She was 15 and he was 17 when they married 57 years ago. I would like to dedicate this song to James & Audrey Wilson. James L. Wilson died 6/23/11. Daddy I miss you. Your loving daughter Carla. I thank God (only for a moment) that Mom has Alzheimer's and did not have to watch him float out of her life.

This song was my late Mom and Dad's love (theme) song because they were "too young" to fall in love with each other. They were married 50 years (living) and passed away for 13 years now. Yet, each time I hear this song, it reminds me of how long they turned their trials and battles into triumphs for over 50 years! Thank you for sharing this song.

Lekker is actually a South African word, derived from Afrikaans, meaning nice. In Afrikaans people also say cool. So we have a few words in South Africa that stretch across English and Afrikaans, perhaps just to be more expressive?
