Kai's drumming really has shown in this album..I'm glad he didn't turn it into a Winter Madness (Wintersun fans will get me) but this black metal/blast beat part is REALLY awesome...who knew Swallow the Sun could make a sick symphonic black metal band. GREAT song!

@nerdheadbanger I was really surprised when they announced Kai would be drumming and i instantly thought it was an odd mix but he had really proved to be a versatile drummer. I listened through every STS album since he joined, makes me proud to be a Wintersun fan and now a new STS fan =)

Love the black metal movement at 3:01. Just comes out of nowhere and it's so f-ing awesome. How they managed to mix in black metal with melodeath/doom and have it sound great is beyond me. StS has some of the best songwriting chops in metal.

I just really cant compare insomnium to StS. They battle in whole different leagues. I've heard a lot of insomnium, but it just can never beat StS in any way. It's just my honest opinion..

@Loves2spooge696 insomniums vocalist couold use some work, his growls are very weak and sound like they are underwater or something, he brings the band down quite a bit.

listen to STS's growls, much more powerful.

@guitar74man There's so many examples in Metal of really 'weak' vocalists and Niilo should definitely not be knotted in with them. Although i agree that Mikko does have more powerful growls than Insomnium vocalist, i still think Insomnium couldn't have better growls for their music then they do now, they are not too low like STS's, and not too high either. And about the vocals sounding "underwater" like you said, that's not his vocals that is the issue, it's how they were produced for the album.
