The IHSAA declared no penalties against Columbus North due to the video evidence (this video and another video from atop of the press box) showing no North players leaving the bench - per instructions from our coaching staff.

The guy on the ground was kicked in the back and ribs. He ended up having severe back spasms but was eventually OK. One of the other guys (#31) that got hurt had a couple of cracked ribs.
Other notes: Our head coach was actually punched and knocked to the ground in the big pile and another player had his helmet ripped off his head with all 4 snaps to his chinstrap still fastened. His face was bruised pretty badly.

the closest thing to a fight occured at a gas station after a game when about 20 or more cars from that town blocked our bus from going anywhere and were throwing shit at us and mooning us and coming up and hitting the bus with bottles and cracked the back door windown on the bus witha soda bottle. we called the cops and they escorted us out of town and 15 players got suspended the next game. plus i think that station got fined for not enforcing loitering on the players that were doing this.

Not to my knowledge he isn't but my son was just a freshman this year. My husband will know for sure. I will check with him. But I haven't heard his name mentioned or anything since he has been gone. Sadly enough I am sure that it will always represent our town that way. It is terrible to watch. I accidentally came across it looking for things from this year. I just hate that todays players have to play with this hanging over them. And most of them probably don't even know about it.

If you will notice, the date of this game is October of 1989. That is 20 years ago! My son played for Martinsville's freshman team this year (2008-09). And I can tell you they are a bunch of fine young men that love THE GAME. Ya'll are beating up a team and town on here for something that happened 20 years ago! We have new kids, new coaches...etc. Please don't hold today's team and kids responsible for the past mistakes of other people who aren't even involved in Martinsville footabll anymore

yeah i would do the same WarHawk44 but the only way that would be keep me back and hold my team back is the fact the white team already had the points up, and not to mention the amount of suspensions the other team would have gotten, im pretty sure this would have been setteled in the court room also. i Columbus North's coach for keepin his team back.
