So amazing and so spooky I love it. I got to work with Super-8 film back in the late 90's and have a few of those films on my channel. They are music videos and light hearted. Take care and keep up the great work!
On my youtube channel i've just uploaded Part One of Six short film/ experimental film series from UK we're making.. would love to have some feedback we're new to this and are inspired from videos such as these :D good luck also with other videos you creat keep up the good work!! x

Great piece. Brings David lynch to mind and 'the Ring'. Love the sound track. Very cool. Nothing like actual tape rather than digitally created film grain.
Where can I find more high quality artistic underground dark experimental videos like this? Maybe I'm not searching hard enough, but a lot of the stuff I've seen on youtube so far really are not that great.
Thanks for your comment, I recommend the Braun Nizo 801 with macro. You can pick them up off ebay for around £200 - they do timelapse and you have control over the shutter to do some effects as seen in Night Call. If you've got the cash there is a pro model as well at around £300 and i've heard these are worth the money and shoot at 25fps.
Its good for a dream and if you wanted to showcase some effects/tricks youve learned, but if you were trying to get something across- it seemed a bit incomprehensible. A little TOO grainy and distorted. also..seems like The whole TVs flickering and spitting and going fuzzy is uber clich- seems to be in every recent horror film. But hey, you got balls to go into 8mm, keep on truckin
You can take a lot of interesting and usefull points from this film, I especially like the grainy and green tint which clearly explains that it is an imaginery world although I would like to see a shorter, more punchy version, well done.
Good work, you used a bunch of well used images to drive the story but between the audio and the super-8 film you kept it from being a cliche and kept me caring about the character(s). if you're doing anything else please let me know...
Wow Andy...I love this film! Super 8 is something I've been wanting to get into...I love the texture...I'm relatively new to film/video; my background's in music/audio engineering/sound design.
What would you recommend as a good place to start experimenting with Super 8, as far as equipment?
Cheers for the captivating video! Very intriguing!
firstly it's better than anything on your youtube page which is blank - so i challenge you to make something better - Secondly your right - this is an experiment and if you had bothered to read about on my myspace page you would have an idea what the experiment involved. Many thanks
Its all super 8mm no filters - i shot on an old russian stock called quatzchrome wich gives it the strange effect. The only bit done in the edit was where I keyed images over the TV screen and you can see this quite easily as I made a shoddy job of it.
Hello, Nizo 801 Macro, all effects are in camera apart from when i keyed an image over the TV screen. With the nizo there are functions that allow you to play with the film speed and also exposure times. Many thanks
I only wish there were more pieces like this on here. Super 8 is tailor made for making films like this, and your obviously a masterful exponent of it. Please, keep up the good work.
ive been watching this video at least once a week.i just love the way you played with image and sound...it reminds me alot a david cronberg video with a hint of david lynch!

I hate it when that happens. You're like, trying to make a phone call, but you're looking at the guy walking around so you keep calling the phones he passes out in the open. Then wammo! An earthquake...
Love the feel and look of the film, makes it seem like a classic; long live Super 8 and those that keep this wonderful medium alive. So much good Super 8 equipment is simply being thrown away and being found for pennies in thrift stores. I found a Canon 814 XLS in an L.A. thrift store for $35 a few years ago.
the tv sound fx were great. and one of my favorite shots was the one where it seemed like the sun was in focus, but then the camera started following the man... it was just good
I like it... I think. Can't make up my mind. I'd love to see it projected from film. The the edge flicker from transfer is interesting. Is that intentional? If so is the transfer the finished movie or the original film? I have a very different approach to experimental super 8 I'd really appreciate your feedback.
