Well, dude, I personally think that it definetly should be rules an error...everyone in the league should be able to through a dart to that close of a target. I rule it an error i like your set up by the way...Keep it up!
how do u not like the marlins there awesome even though there dum owner is stupid and doesent wanna spend money so he can get better players and more ppl come to the staduim but still u hav to represnt florida man
I was at that game and it clearly showed that it was an error and not it stupid hit, they should either over rule that or fire the guy who called that no-hitter no question!
IMO could go either way i would have said error...he has a strong and accurate arm that would have gotten the runner.. Rickey henderson or jose reyes were not the runner. Great video kid...keepit up!!!
It's rather ironic, don't you think? You're savaging this kid, using some pretty low class, idiot language, all the while calling the kid, who at least manages to make a coherent point, a "stupid ass kid". Personally, I think if you'd like to see a bright shining example of a stupid ass, you might try the mirror.
You guys know what's sad? This kid has more knowledge than half the population of baseball fans, and he's probably 3 times younger than the majority of you. Good video, man, keep it up.
Sabathia DID NOT have a play on the ball. He probably would not have thrown out the baserunner, therefore the scoring was right, he should have been given the hit on the scoreboard.
like it or not, its an error. To the people who are saying this is a base hit, I ask you, do you know anything about baseball?? How can this be a hit? Error all the way
Sabathia was screwed but he should have made the play to remove all doubt.
MLB scoring isnt a hard job, but they cant seem to get it right, too many mistakes!!
Agree with u man, but they should had appealed in the same inning the play was called. I think that was a error too but they shouldn't had waited till he threw the one-hitter...what about if that wasn't the only hit they had against him..would they had appeal it?
Looks like you are not a baseball fan, you have to know what you are talking about to be involved in this conversation. Because he "cracked under pressure" or because "the runner reached base" is NOT a ruling that it was a hit, it was weather the player SHOULD have been able to make the play and SHOULD have been able to throw out the runner, IF the judgement is ruled that he SHOULD have made the out, then it is an error and not a hit. You are saying is he SHOULD have made the play, ERROR!
Wow.... I just watched the actual video for the first time today. I live in Pittsburgh and have my whole life and there is no doubt in my mind that if not for the bobble, LaRoche is TOAST at first. Sabathia got robbed. But, it is still against the Pirates. My 3 year old no-hit them twice this season.
It should be a hit. A barehand pick up only happens when there is desperation. If he knew that it was going to be an easy out, he would of gloved it. Second, who knows how CC would of pitched if he knew that a no-hitter was still intact. The pressure of a no-hitter is a lot harder than only pitching for a win or a complete game. He may of gave up a hit under that pressure.
A barehand pick up also occurs when the ball stops dead in its tracks or the ball is moving at a ridiculously slow pace. Ask yourself, do you really need a glove to pick up a ball that is motionless or hardly moving. It should have been rule an error. The hometown scorer is always corrupt. This crap has to stop.
But you are right about the additional pressure of a no-hitter. Maybe he would have crumbled. Maybe the Pirates would have tried harder after the 5th inning.
The problem with this kid's video-game re-creation is that it makes the hit look like it's a hair or two deader than it is when you see the actual video. Almost as if the ball had come to a complete stop, when the actual video shows there's more movement left. It was clearly hit to his glove side, so to try to reach across his body with his bare hand doesn't make a lot of sense. Stupidity/mistake, or intentional, I say they don't overturn the call.
i dont think the issue is if he could have made the play or not. the runner got on base due to sabathias error, therfore it should have been listed as an error and not a base hit....
Well, dude, I personally think that it definetly should be rules an error...everyone in the league should be able to through a dart to that close of a target. I rule it an error i like your set up by the way...Keep it up!

forget the no hit hitter it was a hit...the brewers should worry about my Mets beatin them.
p.s. how bout you send MLB a DVD of Delgado's homerun to see if it cleared the wall.

that's a joke he should have a no hitter cc would of thrown him out easily

Agree. Makeable play, if he doesn't drop the ball LaRoche is out by a mile.

that call was a joke
the guy check swung, accidentally hits it, and then it went right to sabathia.
he picked it up and looked to first to throw and dropped it and by the time he picked it up the guy was about to be safe.

Omg. That is ridculous. He is only 1/2 way down the line when CC touches the ball. If the guy picks the ball up cleanly LaRoche is out. I mean wtf?
Baseball has to act. This sets a bad precedent if they allow this crap. The scorekeeper is clearly corrupt.
Joe41184 3 years ago
It should be a error he bare handed hit then dropped when laroche was half-way down the line he would have thrown him oit

as a HUGE brewer fan, i definetly think this was easily a no hitter. btw, nice idea there kid. lol seriously.
reddfan022 3 years ago 3
I think he bobbled it on purpose trying to get an error and to save his no hitter .
There's lots of calls that are questionable about hits or not and no one ever says anything until now .
750standup 3 years ago
That IS a possibility, but . . .
The problem with this kid's video-game re-creation is that it makes the hit look like it's a hair or two deader than it is when you see the actual video.
