This is my all time favorite guitar solo. I might be wrong on this, but I think Chris Holmes is the one playing this solo...atleast whenever they did this one live, he played the solo.

The version on the first album is Randy playing the main solo. Chris does the outro pick tapping thing. When Randy left Blackie and Chris did the solos so that Blackie started and Chris finished off. When Chris came back to the band in the mid 90s he did the full solo but it was always a lot different from the original Randy Piper version.

Okay, yeah I have a WASP DVD from I wanna say 2004 or so, and Chris is playing the solo on this one. That is why I thought he did it on the album too. Randy's a great guitar player too though. Thank you for clearing that up for me. :)

Would you say this is a hard solo to play?. The only bit I think I will have trouble doing is the tapping. Any tips on how to do it?.

I think it's fairly easy apart from the tricky harmonics. The tapping is done with a pick as fast as possible. It sounds a lot more difficult than it actually is. The ending part tapping and arpeggios are me just improvising and not part of the original song.

After the original album solo you did first - I wouldn't call it nonsense. The tapping part is the "Live..In the Raw" version of this song. I like both versions. Actually think that the studio version is Rawer than the RAW version, hehehe ;)

only the first part of the solo is randys the fast tapping and pulloff part is chris not randy!! see the live at the lyceum 1984 it shows you randy and chris split the solo.

Bass 8, Mids 3, Treble 7, Presence 6. Marshall Silver Jubilee with Ibanez STL for overdrive and Lexicon PCM 41 for delay.

Input gain about 6 and some boost from the overdrive pedal but no distortion. One thing to remember is that this guitar has a lot of gain due to the JE1000 electronics.
