More and more folks are learning the evils of corporate America. Big corporations don't give fuck one about human beings. Yet there are always plenty of numbnuts type right wingers amongst the working class that will actively support the same far right people and big corporations that routinely fuck them. Now those are some dumb motherfuckers that have a ton of bad Karma coming to them. Same thing to cops that arrest peacefull protesters. Fuck them for being worthless swine.

This is not civil disobedience. This is modern American ignorance. Just because you were let go from a job does not make a company "evil" or "greedy." Labor is a market just like any other. Someone else was willing to sell their labor at a lower price. Good for them. Now THEY have jobs they can support THEIR families with. Ever think of that? Two sides to every coin. And with the money they save they can hire even MORE people. Welcome to Economics 101 kids. It's going to be a long semester.
So, you really have no idea of the specific issues at Hyatt, do you? You simply want to hold forth with your own rant about some idea you've been sold regarding labor. Maybe you want to put your high school civics education to good use. Go heckle somebody else.
If you have not worked for Hyatt, shut your mouth. When you work at Hyatt it's like working with family. You give all you have because you love your job and Hyatt showed they cared. I was at Hyatt for 2 years and even though only 15 were cut from my hotel, it was devastating. Not because they blamed the economy and had to make a business decision, but how they made that decision. Most people who were cut were told they were training seasonal help and then slapped with a firing massacre.
Uuuuh, "I Am Not Afraid"..?? You looked like a bunch of compliant, servile, chickenshits standing up and in a boot-licking way allowing yourselves to be handcuffed and taken to jail. Hmmm, I wonder if any of these people have gotten any new ideas from those in the middle east on how to reeeeeally have a protest and get what you want. Sitting on the ground, smiling, chanting and holding non-threatening signs will get you nowhere.
That isn't true civil disobediance. That is crying because you don't have enough skills to get a job or employ yourself and you feel hassling a corporation is going to make things better when it never will.
why not protest our violent and corrupt government instead of a free market enterprise that did nothing but make a business decision?
Why don't they go get another job instead of whining about it? They aren't "entitled" to those jobs. The time they spent doing that could have been spent looking for another job!!!!!!
Thanks for expressing your bewilderment and ignorance of labor issues, David. You've illustrated the point that fools have no idea what is going on, but that doesn't stop them from commenting.
Welcome home Rahim. Ready to do the Queen's bidding? You were a political liability and you and your mentors have been jettisoned. La heim and mozeltov! You Chicago gangster!
Don't you have anything better to do than monitor Hyatt posts? You must expand your horizons. Go get a "real job" like George Thoroughgood. You sound like their favorite lawyer, Emmo. Did Mrs. Star really name you "dog" or are you just a real "son of a bitch"? Just like the bedbugs, "bite me" or suck on someone else! Just don't stay at a Hyatt.
@CliffMortensen1 Your YouTube account has been open for over 6 months. You have contributed no videos, have no subscribers and no friends. You seem to be commenting on videos that have to do with Hyatt hotels. You've made ironic reference to delicatessen foods in one of these other comments. In another you warned of bed bugs. Here you have been compulsive enough to return on another day.
Is there something you want to get off your chest, Cliff?
Study real hard, take tons of ginko biloba and when your I.Q. reaches 75 we can have a nice chat! Nice work M.O. No mo! Oh, don't enter any spelling bees. Can you connect any dots besides those stuck in a colorful box at the theatre?
@CliffMortensen1 I take it that's a No, then. Any other speculations today? Any further diabolical plots you wish to uncover for us? Thanks for playing.
Ooh sorry. Didn't think you were so sensitive! I am glad you are interested tho! FYI it was Judge Moran RIP. Acxiom replaced Charles Morgan and the entire top management at Acxiom because of this theft. Morgan said in a deposition "Hell, if I had known the data was stolen I never would have bought it." Pritzker got their money the old fashion way-They stole it! By the way Doggystar, you are not a Pritzker are you?
@CliffMortensen1 Tell more, tell me more. What exactly does this have to do with labor relations at the Hyatt? Do you imagine that Penny Pritzger runs the staff as if it were her own plantation? And, in your imaginary world, was Obama just a bell-hop who got lucky? Why don't you fully elaborate on the Six Degrees of separation between the people striking in this video and your election conspiracy theory.
So, we are at the raving insult stage already?Dang! i was hoping you would hold it together for a few more go-a-rounds. Maybe it's low blood sugar. Did you skip lunch?
@dogstar7 Maybe if you had a caption to go along with that accusation regarding Acxiom, as long as you are going to indicate the "Northern District Court", that is. (That really sounded official, btw) I just love it when people tell me to look things up.
Penny Pritzker's company, TransUnion, stole biliions of credit records from independent credit bureaus and then sold the information to Acxiom Corp. of AR. They setlled one lawsuit secretly for $11,000,000.00 and a promise of silence. Hey Penny, my civil rights are not for sale. Her house cat, Obama, represents her interests-Israel. With the credit theft and meltdown of her bank she was at the heart of our financial crisis!
@CliffMortensen1 : Wow, Cliff. I'm honored that someone of your astute knowledge of esoteric information would take the time to enlighten us. Are we to simple take you at your word, stranger?
"Her house cat, Obama..." : Attacking legitimacy. This would infer that Obama is a shadow puppet. It's a way of coping, I guess.
Have a pleasant delusion, Cliff. See you at the polls in Nov.
I was about to say this is a misapplication of the term 'civil disobedience', since this was a protest against a corporate employer's treatment, not against the State...but, on checking, it seems they really were unknowingly protesting against this government's disastrous economic management (as they should) because billionaire Penny Pritzker, heir to the Hyatt chain, was Obamas Campaign Finance Chairperson! She & family were at the center of the financial crisis and real estate melt down.
First, blocking a downtown thoroughfare at the peak of evening rush hour is, indeed, an act of civil disobedience. Why you would even question the word choice rhetorically is a bit absurd.
Attempting to tie Penny Pritzger personal political associations to federally regulated civil arbitration between the Hyatt Hotel division and it unions is ludicrous.
JehanneDeLys appears to have gone a long way to rationalize an attack on "liberals" here.
@dogstar7 : Not really, I was actually referring to the traditional use of the term for resistance to civil government, a la Thoreau (i.e. King, Ghandi etc.). I only stumbled on the Hyatt connection to one of Obama's advisors while looking up this event! The financial crisis is of course the *root cause* of such situations — which doesn't excuse the Hyatt's egregious treatment of its employees either. FYI, I'm not with any 'party' & from Australia (perm US resident now) :)
great video footage... the workers speaking at the beginning of this video along with all their coworkers and supporters are very brave to fight for their families and the future of all of our jobs.
Not only are manipulative and meretricious bankers on Wall St. swimming in olympic-sized swimming pools filled with money, they are swimming olympic-sized pools FILLED WITH OUR MONEY. Our HARD-EARNED MONEY.
If you've ever seen the Park Hyatt's prices (around $300 per night, but don't quote me), then you'll be taken aback by the greed that the hotel has exhibited.
they shouldnt have been arrested. No reason, really. Cops just trying to make themselves look cool

@CliffMortensen1 Cliff,
You have a history that I haven't been a part of. Whatever you are involved in does not include, nor does it interest me. Am I making myself clear?
Let's review: The video you are responding to has to do with a labor dispute. I am simply the cameraman who captured the occurrence.
In the future please address your concerns and express your grievances toward your imagined "Great Nemesis" elsewhere.
