Its solar assisted....not solar powered. But the concept is past due. But me and you both know that if we start using less company bought energy and started using more (free) solar powered energy that the "authorities" would just find another way to suck our money out of us. They are in it to make money. They don't want us to save money by using solar. Think about it for a while.

@waterwart Wide implementation will start once the big companies start buying up all the really dynamic alternative startups. Why is this? 1) They have to idiot-proof the technology for widespread residential use and mass-marketing purposes. 2) They have to set up mass Asian manufacturing of components to drive down costs. 3) Grid assisted means that existing infrastructure does not have to be retrofitted to accept it. Instead of tearing down good stuff, we let the old grid die by attrition.
