Clark whistles do whistle with a type of volume control. They sound better than just bloking the sound hole with blutak or other. The 'travelling' whistle has a beautiful tone and is beautifully tuned, it plays a little 'slowly' though.

How'd you learn to play this tune so well? I've been trying and it's just really difficult for me. *sadface* I can play it REALLY slowly, but it's really tough for me to speed it up. :-(

You play very well. this song is rather difficult to play. good luck trying to find a spot to practice where people dont get annoyed by it. ( i think all fellow whistlers have that problem lol)

@RinEditionB Try your hand at making your own whistle! I've made like 5 whistles out of PVC, all with great sound, from the blueprints on Guido Gonzato's website (just search his name).

He gives directions to make a fully customizable sound, including a setup for very quiet whistles, which may be what you are looking for.

Also, you can just blow across the sound hole to get a whisper-quiet sound but still get the tone. Good for practicing.

i had to email mr sindt to be put on his 6 month waiting list. it cost me around £50.its my favorite whistle by far!.there are loads of websites offering many different whistles. it all depends what you're looking for. i wanted one which required not much puff to play and still sounded like a tin whistle rather than a recorder.(i find my susato whistle sounds too much like a recorder)go to bigwhistle co uk a good site for comparing whistles & prices!
