in mythology the leviathan was a devastating sea monster sometimes taking the form of a squid, lobster, and a many headed sea snake. the leviathan in this movie is the mechanical version of the mythical creature.

@7love1 it's about the atlantis. the atlantis is a legendary island first mentioned in Plato's dialogues Timaeus and Critias. I am greek and I know the whole story about it cause we do it at school. all the philosophy of plato and sokratis and stuff. you can google it and it explains it all in there :)
