  • Standing face to face with Jesus, What a delight. R.I.P. Merlin

  • Awww

  • How sad this had to happen to such a brave soul. The only thing sadder is the war for nothing that caused it....

  • Why people have to touch the hell, we saw the heaven in their eyes? I remember... RIP

  • RIP

  • Sgt. German's plight could of been avoided if the Marines in Al Anbar had MRAPs from the get go.

I was Army light infantry and I did my time so keep the Marine Corps fan boy shit to yourselves where it belongs. The "enemy" doesn't give a shit who they are killing and the REMFs in the rear, with the NA beer, are the only one's clinging to BS one liners like GLORY and even more GLORY.

Fuck that. When you see your friends die the last thing you will think of is glory and medals.

  • @TimmyHaag and unless you were a REMF that was chillling in the rear like a gear queer then you would have known the MRAP design wasn't being put out or used by anyone when German's vehicle got hit. See what you don't know is that German was an artilleryman. 2nd Battalion 11th Marines is an Artillery unit that was sent to Ar Ramadi in sept 2004 as an improvised infantry battalion. We provided security for convoys. Bout the only thing you got right is this not being about medals and glory.

  • ... heros who defend our und the freedom their families!

    Thanks!

  • Semper Fi

  • Coming from a Brit, I respect this man and God Bless him.

    A true hero

  • Heroes know no nationalities... Amen

  • Semper Fi

  • Roger that...

  • "If the Army or the Navy ever look on heaven's scenes...They will always find the streets are guarded. By the United States Marines."

    - Marines Hymn

Sgt Merlin German is at his post and he is honored to be there.

    Semper Fi brother, Semper Fi

  • I remember...

  • What a truly inspiring heart strong story. I am proud of this young man and glad that he was an American. Talking about making the best if your life while you are here on this planet. He did! My prayers are with him and his family.

  • He definately left us an example of how to live...

  • Semper Fi

  • Absolutely

  • I used to work at BAMCs burn ICU. I was there while German was a patient and I was getting ready for retirement.

To Merlin German and family--I salute you all.

  • paps,

my care for the situation is shunned?

i gave my heart in my comment with thanks.

    i was rejected?

you either misunderstood or don't care for my gratitude.

i still feel for the victim here as i am the same as he and am 100% behind him and awesomeness regardless of your un approval.

    thanks

  • re; my comment not approved.

  • I am not sure what you mean not approved... I have edited any comments on any videos other than profane posts...

And I don't recall your handle so I don't believe this is the case for you...

    Thanks for your feedback...

  • pappystu,

i left a comment pending approval here and when i had checked back a few days later it was not posted. i now see that the pending approval is disabled (not like before).

thanks for the response. i thought you trashed it when it wasn't profane but very compassionate.

maybe it just did not work?

    anyhow, peace and God Bless.

  • Thanks for getting back to me... the comments here are haphazard at best most of the time...

Anytime something is "free" we must take it with a grain of salt I guess... vbg

  • Amen Compadre...

  • Very nice!!! We will see a lot of this stuff i think because USA keep sending latins and black people to iraq!!! Its a good way to dispose that people you dont want in your contry but some times it fails and back to usa looking like this "miracle man". You are so funy.

  • That's "funny"...

And the brave men and women of Black and Latino descent that you refer to are volunteers as are all members of our armed services... They do so willingly in hope of eradication of the hate and rhetoric you utter... They serve in the name of freedom... Something I doubt you are capable of understanding... I wish you well...

  • nicolcron, how do you no he's black or hisp?

you sound like a illiterate with reason to manipulate ignorance to follow your severely erroneous statement.

  • All kinds of people fought and are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. What bonds people in the Marine Corps is not color, or religion, ethnicity, etc. Its being a Marine. There is no color in the Marine Corps, only green. We have a volunteer military where all kinds of people join and know the consequences...but you're too ignorant to know anything about that, and your view on our society is almost as pathetic as you are; so with that being said have a good life.

  • A Hero.

  • I agree....

  • truly heroic

  • He is remembered well on this and future memorial days...

  • Thank you for posting this pappystu, I really apprieacted it

  • This just breaks my heart :( Its only recently that something was shown on British tv that showed the hell that some survivers were going through. Normally, its the sort of footage that is never shown because oh gee it might upset the viewers.
