The place where Link is born is "heaven" and underneath is ruled by darkness. Well yeah it is all hooked to the same time line. I was guessing it may either be Ocarina of Time Link or a completly different Link far in the Future. But this is my guess a Japanese board called 2Chan leaked info (it's a rumor but these guys have a history of being right) mentioning time travel. It will probably wind up being OOT Link time traveling between multiple eras.
