I'll second that! I got mine last year and even put a custom fit Jardine pipe on. I can keep up with a mate who rides a CB600 hornet, but i have another who rides a stock GS500 and struggles to stay with me, easy to control, reliable with a bit of speed when you need it, parts are cheap as chips too
The SV definitely has the advantage on the straights, but in corners it's a different story. Some bike magazines claim that the agile Er5 can even outrun a fireblade in very tight corners. Same happened to me: in a close-to-hairpin corner I left a dude on a R1 behind. Seconds later he was far ahead of course, but still....
will third that :D ,dont get discomfortable with the phrase ''it is a beginner bike'' .It is a easier bike thats all,its faster than shadows or intruders
