I'm prepping for my radiation therapy program admission interview and I'm trying to figure this out incase they ask me. :S

@diligentshopper Depends on the mode of therapy. For external beam therapy we use X-rays, electrons and protons. Even though no physical distinction can be made between a gamma and an X-ray, they differ with respect to their origin. Gammas originate from the nucleus, whereas X-rays originate outside of it. Now, brachytherapy sources give off gamma radiation as well.

@diligentshopper Then theres the gamma knife which utilizes many Co-60 sources. So the short answer to your question is yes......but it depends on what kind of therapy you're using.
