This 1996 version is the one of the 1987 version of the song, call "The Critical Distance". It's quite a rare one, because Justin said once that this song was very difficult to play live. Later, they made a new version of the song (on "Silver Soul"), in 1998, with new lyrics called "Get Critical", this version was played during the spring tour of 1998, especially in Paris in Le Divan Du Monde.
is it really a live appearence from 1996? the studio-version can be found in 98's release "silver soul" but the band's style looks like the angelfish-outfit.
by the way, the original drums on the silver-soul-version of this song were played by n. havas.

Leur apogée ! Ils n'ont jamais été aussi rock'n'roll. Quelle classe, quel morceau ! Douze ans après, que reste-t-il de cette escapade américanophile ? Un mood, un swing et...Paul Hill !

In fact this song had originally been released as a 12" in 1988.

remake is correct, but the name of this song is: get critical

The remake of the Critical Distance, in my opinion, was an experiment of mix + match => mismatch.
Anyway it's still nice, isn't it?
