@stevin47 This is why preserving biodiversity is so important. This way we can produce enough food for a growing world population and can maintain healthy bees. However, I do disagree with most points in this video as research suggests that GMOs have no adverse effects and are just as nutritional as conventional food. The fact that you DONT need to use pesticides also only helps the bees.

Hydroponic is also verry demanding..you have to regulate the waters PH And add some fertilisers/vitamins.Also it is demanding constant air flow if you dont whant molds and fongus on your walls. To accelerate crop time you need energy consuming light systems and timers. Hydroponics and biologic is not a good match.

The problem with these horror stories is they make it like a blanket statement. Yes, if poorly done it's possible to make the food less healthy, it's also possible to make it better for you, require less water, grow in harsher conditions so those in poor countries can have better crops etc.

Some people think that GMO's are safe, maybe because the FDA approved it ( look up pulled drugs ) , so what kind of tests do you think Co.s like Monsanto have done, Hmm did they feed "test" humans for 2-3 generations to see if they caused genetic defects? No, but those tests are being conducted right now, and guess what? your the test subject, but don't worry, if they someday find it does cause problems, the FDA will pull it off the market, like so many other FDA and "safe" products.

There is something called "Epigenetics" ( research this, or watch the video "Ghost in your genes" ) Certain triggers can cause genes to switch on or off, this will be passed onto your children. so no, eating GMO foods may not kill you outright, but they can trigger genes to switch on or off, which will be passed on , permanently in your Genes. whats really bad is that these GMO plants, contaminate adapted varieties, of course the Farmers get sued if they use GMO contaminated seeds.

The FDA, is the agency that should be protecting the public ( when in doubt, pull it out ) instead they "trust" what corporations tell them. and only remove substances after they have killed a few hundred people, they should be called the Food and Drug profit protection agency.
