@emodudee Bungie had not gotton Halo 2 to a stage at which it was playable for the public. So they mocked up this demo in 1 month just to give something for the fans. However, almost everything is scripted this demo and had to be played on a very specific path or the game would crash. I just wish they released it to indie developers so we can release it to the public.

TO EVERYONE WONDERING WHY THIS WASN'T IN THE FINAL GAME:

Bungie admitted that the quality they have here was too much for the original xbox to handle. They were able to a 5 minute e3 demo after much struggle, but it was far from practical for doing the entire game like this. They literally scraped the entire graphics engine after coming back from e3 and started new.

The final game had no where near this amount of action, physics, etc. going on. Was pretty dissapointing when i played halo 2

@scaldra Bungie had some major clashes with Microsoft during Halo 2's devolpment. A big chunk of Bungie left early on and formed Wideload studios. Bungie spent along time making the teaser for Halo 2(Chief walking down the hall) then realized those level of graphics couldn't run on the Xbox. Then they spent months making this demo in time for E3. So they didn't have much time to make the rest of Halo 2. It's all explained on the making of Halo 2 DVD. It's why Bungie went independent.
