He spoke in our Stake Conference last year in Australia and the fire alarm went off, it was so funny and he made jokes about it. He is the most down-to-earth man with such a great sense of humour and he gave a wonderful and inspiring talk. I wish we had more of the General Authorities visit because they have such a presence and spirit that guarantess you will always be uplifted and enlightened.

@NavajoJoe66 No, I assure you: Mormons DO have their own edition of the KJV. It's in fact the KJV with footnotes at the bottom of the pages indicating what the J. Smith translation says for passages of the Bible that differ from his translation

I was in my mid-20s-an inactive LDS when I first read the BoM. Well, when I started reading the book, I couldn't put it down. I read every spare minute I could get. I laughed, I cried & was utterly amazed at its contents. I read it in 4 dys & Knew it was true & that I had to ask for my own spiritual witness from God. The Book of Mormon is a record of the people that existed in the Americas. It was written by prophets that God called in the western hemisphere to teach his children on that half of the world. They only had parts of the Old testament and were living the law of Moses. But like Isiah, Book of Mormon prophets also testified of Christ and of the fulfillment of the Law. These records were passed on from one prophet to the next, like the Bible.

Great question. This book testifies that Jesus lived and lives as the Bible says He did. Where the concept is taught that Jesus did not rise but his body was simply stolen, the Book of Mormon validates the New Testaments account of the Resurrection and strengthens it. Jesus appeared to those in Jerusalem, He also appeared on the American Continent as well.

It is inspiring to hear a true prophet of God speak and to be able to feel the love that God the father has for his children. Guess I don't understand what The Book of Mormon is. How did there just all of a sudden appear this "another Testament of Jesus Christ"? Where did it come from? How do we know it's real? How do we know this Mormon Bible isn't something someone just decided to make up because he didn't like the way the original bible was written? Not being difficult... just saying. Seriously, how do we truly know that even the bible is what Jesus said? Nobody knows if it changed over the thousands of years.

You need to prayerfully read the Bible to be able to see the spiritual and eternal principles being taught. They never change. Then do likewise with the Book of Mormon. Christ told his disciples, in the Bible, he had other sheep to go and teach. Who were they?

This is a personal quest that only you can find the answer too. Christ taught that the way to Kingdom of God was a straight and narrow path and only few would find it. What did he truly mean?

thepara...those are good questions and have answers. The best way to know if the Book of Mormon is true is to read the book itself with a sincere desire to know if it is true and ask God with real intent in prayer if it is true.

For answers to all of your questions I would talk to the missionaries or an LDS friend and they can take the time to answer them. Also try the church's official website at lds'dot'org. (put a period in place of "dot")

That's a good question. I read it and then prayed about it to get my answer. I figured that God would answer me and let me know if the book was legitimate or whether or not it was made up. I received my answer and it was a great experience.

Those are awesome questions, just the one's you should be asking... The simple answer is found in James 1:5. - Ask God. Read the Book of Mormon yourself, and then follow the counsel given at the end of the book, in Moroni 10:4... It says the same thing: Ask God, and by the power of Holy Ghost, you will know the answer.

Sometimes it may take a few times of praying about something to get an answer, but he does answer prayers. The Book Of Mormon is a companion to the bible. It doesn't add anything to the bile or take away anything from it. The Book of Mormon contains the writings of ancient prophets, who lived in on the American continent for over 1,000 years ago. This is one of the best books out there.

When I watch, CC is automatically on. If yours is not, go to the lower right corner of the video screen. Look for the gray square with the small triangle pointed upward. Hover over that and you should see a "CC" symbol. Click that and you should begin seeing the video with closed captioning activated. Unfortunately, YouTube doesn't offer a larger type size.
