I'm glad they don't have that jet. Frankly, I hate that Delta has any Airbus aircraft. I avoid them like the plague. There is no other manufacturer in history that had problems with vertical stabilizers separating from aircraft. A botched design that Airbus still has not fixed!!
as I recall Airbus had only 1 vertical stabilizer separation that of AA A300, of which AA has several accidents in recent times due to inadequate pilot training.
The 737 has had fatal incidents resulting from design flaws of its own vertical stabizer(rudder),
@busta4u Boeing fixed that issue. Airbus has not fixed theirs, and reportedly, they're not intending on fixing it. That's my problem. And research Airbus vertical stabilizer separations. It's more than just 1. It's 4 that I know of. If you check pilot forums, you will see many Delta pilots (for ex.) that will not train to fly Airbus aircraft.... 11 degree deflection of the rudder and that's what caused it to snap off? Something's not right about that.
@busta4u I know of one, USAir flight 427. The cause of this crash was deemed the likely cause for another United 737 crash.
"The National Transportation Safety Board determines that the probable cause of the USAir flight 427 accident was a loss of control of the airplane resulting from the movement of the rudder surface to its blowdown limit."
The rudder was pushed to it's maximum deflection angle and sheered off, that American A300's rudder was not.
@Adoramus99 No, that's a 777-200. Look at the cockpit windows and the proportions of height to length. Also, note the tailcone. 767-400ER's and all 767's have rounded cones, all 777's have "bladed" cones.
what the hell
