  • Really it's a great car, but we have to remember this video whas edited and the place choosed was perfect for this specific car....here in Brazil I can say It would not work if we use the mud and the slip soil we have here...so as I said it's a great car, but depends the place you use it will not work as showed in this video.

  • Like I said before, I'm really amused by some of these comments. This was not a comparison of vehicles. It was a Land Rover event to introduce prospective customers to the then new Range Rover Sport model. Expert off-road instructors were showing mostly novice drivers how to use the new stock Rovers to best advantage on some of the most popular and scenic off-road trails in the United States.

Other brands were not used. So don't be offended if your favorite vehicle was not there.

  • ماعني . وعنها ان شاء الله . بس خلوني اتوزفَ :$

  • fuck you with this video... must be you know that for off-road only the best car is jeep rubicon and for desurt toyota landcruser and nissan patrol is the best cars..range rover so much safe and rich look car and is best for on-road driving...i like range only on road....

  • We had a number of Range Rover Sports on the two day event, Black, Silver, Green and a Bronze/Orange, named Vesuvius. I am really amused by some of these comments.

I was the Director/Cameraman of this video, and for the 5 seasons of the Ride to Adventure Series on Outdoor Channel.

    Russ

  • anyone noticed that @1:25 the colour was grey whatever you call it than @1:33 it turned dark green hmm >.> fakeee

  • @vladak47

two different cars you clown :/

  • i like this a car.... wow

  • So now people can go rock climbing without leaving their suv?! So much for the great out doors man.

  • MOAB!

  • great car)

  • teaching yuppies how to drive off rodeo drive. Any 4x4 could make it over that. lol.

  • wanna impress me take that stock range rover up escolator

  • hey how much does is cost when y'all fuck up?!? hahahahahahahaha. sucks for you!!!!!

  • hey how much does is cost when y'all fuck up?!? hahahahahahahaha

  • I feel an orgasim when i watch this.

    I love range rovers

    AH

  • Dang... It's shorter than the bronco, but can crawl the rocks much faster

  • pretty impressive

  • Power Range ! :)

  • tires ????

  • I've owned a RR Sport, and I'm sorry, my Subaru Forester is lighter, more responsive, and CERTAINLY more capable off road. With a few upgrades such as JDM locking diff, 2" lift, and more aggressive AT tires, I have a better, more capable vehicle for less than half of what these "status wagons" cost.

  • @cliquehop Hah, exactly :) These new LRs and RRs are just crap.

  • simply a ALL PURPOSE LUXURY CAR !!!!!!

  • these models sound like the supercharged ones? are they? I have the sport 4.2 supercharged model, there really qiuck for there size and qiute responsive, just driving them makes you feel 7 again

  • range rover leaks more oil than bp and ky combined

  • why? i think if you don't build up your SUV for rock climbing you shouldn't do it.

regular4x4 SUV's are great for muddy dirt roads and snow and going some places cars cant but i think to ruin your SUV for rock climbing is stupid.

  • @lvclint Actually with Land Rovers and Range Rovers, they are built for rock, as the selectable terrain device is marked for them.

  • I don't know where some of you guys are getting your facts, but let me say this. There is no question jeeps are good for off road ridding. But land rover range rovers are of greater advantage. Low gear ratio, adjustable suspension, you just can't go better. Plus u can drive them in 4 feet of water.

  • It makes me smile to see these vehicles being used offroad. I currently own a couple of Jeeps (Grand Cherokee/Cherokee) but hope to someday 'upgrade' to the luxury of a Range Rover. Yeah, it might not have the solid axles front/rear that my Jeeps do...but for being the RR Sport (and what appeared to be stock tires) I think the IFS/IRS suspensions did a great job here! A properly designed IFS/IRS system can work offroad contrary to popular belief.

  • Fresh radiator hoses are a must there.

  • if u wanna get up that face really quickly just floor it and hit it going 70

  • @eshea5050 well that is a possibility haha

  • I'd rather have an X-Terra lifted with a rear locker. Granted, the Range Rover is a beautiful machine, but for the bang and reliability, I'd stick with an X.

  • and thatll be the only time we ever see one of these off road.... now its off to the shoe store!

  • i dont think that land rover is the best 4x4 but is very luxury but on 4x4 not compare with mercedes g

  • @crf150rubicon cayenne better :]

  • @crf150rubicon but the land rover defender is to compare to the g wagen

  • @crf150rubicon mercedes g ????? are u fuckin kidin me ?

  • @crf150rubicon I'm afraid ur wrong friend...even though G class is my favorite suv of all time but unfortunately that's not true cause nothing compares to toyota land-cruiser when it comes to its off road capabilities :) & biggest proof is that it along with the nissan patrol right after it are the most selling suv's in the gulf region.. & when it comes to off road driving first choice is the LC.

  • FIRST OF ALL JEEPS WERE THE FIRST 4X4 SUV EVER MADE AND IS THE BEST OFFROAD VEHICLES THAT EXIST TO DATE, RANGE ROVER IS THE SECOND BEST AND SECOND SUV MADE BUT WILL NEVER BE BETTER THAN THE KING OF OFFROAD (JEEP) PEOPLE ARE IGNORANT AND NEED TO DO SOME RESEARCH. PLUS JEEP AND DODGE MAKES THE BADDEST, MEANNEST TRUCKS MADE, NO OTHER BRAND CAN TOP IT WHEN IT COMES TO OFFROADING OH AND ONE THING RANGE ROVER ARE NOT RELIABLE UNLIKE JEEP AND JEEP HAS SOLID AXLES RANGE DONT SO ITS NOT MORE CAPABLE.

  • @HARDBODYRALF

Wrong, Unimog/Pinzgauer = best offroad vehicle, but thats ok, Jeep number 1 in USA

  • @mrHckyfan JEEPS ARE #1 OFFROAD IS A FACT, NOT ONLY IN USA BUT THE WORLD, PLUS IN USA THERES MORE OFFROAD PLACES THAN EUROPE

  • @HARDBODYRALF i accept jeep making good 4x4's, hell even a damn fj cruiser just might have a big enough pair of balls to make it up the rocks....but seriously, dodge?

  • @theldaniel170 look at the dodge ram powerwagon, its the most capable 4x4 pickup truck

  • Was this the kiddie course. I didn't see any rugged tarrain.

It wasn't bad for a road car. But, I would rather have a old XJ with a 4-6 inch lift 32-35 inch tires and lockers to handle the challanging trails in Moab.

Any 4X4 could have handled this road. Hell, a Subaru could have handled these roads.

  • I had no clue the Range Rover was tha capable. that's impressive.

  • How is it on washboard roads? thx

  • hello my name is off-road they call me range rover

  • these arnt real offroad range rovers. the sport has road suspension.

the range rover (not sport) is a real offroader.

if u want the king of offroading. id give it a tie between the dodge power wagon and the rangie defender

  • My dad have the 2010 range rover HSE and it's great and comfortable seats..the screen is so cool..he always lift it up when we go off road..feel like a low rider car. I like this car better than my mom 2006 Honda crv...and the crv is actually really good on off road and snow..it have good technology like when the crv is in bad condition in snow..it tell it's "friend" to help me out meaning automatic 4wd..the range rover is some gas killer..and my mom crv is a v4

  • Good

  • u are toking a buot jeeps my ded hav a isuzo tark and he do dis witout des range rover

  • @aviv9863 wtf did you even just say?

  • The point of Range Rover ... you can do all this terrain stuff but then on the normal road its a super-smooth big limo ride .. in hushed comfort. Unique.

  • Land Rover produces the best offroad cars in the world. That's a fact, it has been proven.

    Accept that.

    No, you're Jeep isn't better.

  • @1ssi7h *your . jeep is better because its cheaper to replace parts you're going to break. land rover is still good

  • @7ortuga lol tnx, auto correct did that.

Anyway, I was just talking about the offroad capabilities. Jeeps are good and cheap as you say, but Land and Range Rovers are just better suited for offroad than Jeeps.

I was just a bit annoyed by the American redneck hillbillies who claim that only American cars can preform.

  • 1:55 ouchh!!!!

  • ياحبي لك يالرنج..,) (:

  • thats barely a rock. wimpy

  • Not bad for an SUV..... lets see the ugly porcha cayenne do this...

  • No! fuck all americans cars! European cars r best!

  • @elcapitano5puyol Cadillac has the fastest 4 door production car to date. Jeep to this day has the most respectable and reliable 4x4 system. Our sports cars and Muscle cars don't preform as well as your super cars but they come damn close and don't cost nearly as much. Also you can't put a price on the history of the american auto industry. I'll take heritage and reliability over carbon fiber any day. Also this "off-roader" here blows.

  • @NullusxVotum diffrence is. doesnt matter how much americans put into a car they are all shit. :P american super cars that cost just as much as italian and german ones dont perform anywhere near as good. and comming pretty damn close isnt good enough. your either the best or your nothing. P.S range rovers are good unlike other luxary 4wds or suv's it can actually handle the offroad. the only other 4wd that can go offroad well and is luxary is pretty much any landcruiser sahara

  • @rav16101 My wrangler would eat these obstacles for breakfast and its not even 32 grand. my dads cherokee would do it too your range rover cant do shit off road, sure its cozy but its not off road capable at all. also cadillac CTS-V FASTEST 4 DOOR PRODUCTION CAR IN THE WORLD. 62 grand. and what the hell are you talking about? a ford GT is only 120 grandish and it outpreforms plenty of your 500 or 600 thousand dollar super cars. maybe not a pagani or a bugatti but that millions gotta do something

  • @NullusxVotum Dude what the fuck is your problem. there are reasons for the high prices of European sport cars.

'Your' 'muscle cars' have CO2 emmitions and fuel consumption figures that go through the roof. European cars with the same power to weight ratio have 1/3 of the CO2 emmitions and half the fuel consumption.

On top of that European sports cars have way better suspension systems, transmissions, more durable materials stronger chassis etc.

European cars are just way more technological.

  • @1ssi7h and because of that their ride feels very unhuman and digital. dodge vipers and ford GTs take most european cars and kick them in the nuts... at a third the price!

  • @NullusxVotum At least they still have nuts because the vipers nuts got busted on the crap suspension.

  • @1ssi7h What are you talking about? The viper is faster than plenty of your cars and CO2 Emissions? really? you think a bugatti or a Pagani have good emissions? there is a reason you dont see peugeots or vauxhaulls or any other european cars in america, THEY FAIL OUR EMISSIONS STANDARDS.

  • @NullusxVotum No that's because Peugeot's or Opel's are crap cars

'fail our emissions standards' ? right what's needed then 10l/100km minimum ?

You should really get your figures straight and admit that European cars are in general more advanced than the regular US car.

But that doesn't mean the US cars are all shit, there are good ones too.

The only thing you absolutely shouldn't compare are supercars because the only good supercar the US ever produced was the Corvette and you know it.

  • set of wankers !!

  • where the range is getting over the rock at the beginning, would you use 1st gear to get up or 2nd ? is it classed as rock crawling?

  • Looks like fun

  • Americans know how to enjoy and take care of the great outdoors.

  • @cochranexyz that's why they ride trough national parks with jeeps ? yeah they sure take care :p but you're right, i'm europiean and i wish they would do more events here like of roading... a lot of track days tough...

  • @cochranexyz I absolutly 100% agree!

  • @cochranexyz but not using an american car sad no?

  • hey I'll give you credit you did kick our ass revolutionary style. Then again you're speaking our language and watching our royal wedding! Bwahahah you are corporate slaves! RANG ROVER RUNS OVER JEEPS!

  • @omid11 i believe land rover is owned by ford lol

  • Ford of Europe. You can thank us latter for the gt40, escort rs, escort mkii, sierra

  • @omid11 no one even cares or uses those cars over here so it doesnt matter lol

  • most car enthusiasts do care because all the good fords are from euro division it's sad really ford.eu makes better cars than ford.us

  • @PapaCzu1990 Or not at all anymore! LOL

Before you criticize someone else you might want to ensure you are informed about the subject

  • @PapaCzu1990 Land Rover and Jaguar are owned by TATA de Indian car brand.

  • hey I'll give you credit you did kick our ass revolutionary style. Then again you're speaking our language and watch our royal wedding. Bwahahah you are corporate slaves! RANG ROVER RUNS OVER JEEPS!

  • hey I'll give you credit you did kick our ass revolutionary style. Then again you're speaking our language and watch our royal wedding. Bwahahah you are corporate slaves! RANG ROVER RUNS OVER JEEPS!

  • lol my jeep Cherokee did this with no trouble,,,just walked right up the rocks and through the sand just put it in 4x4low and cruse along these guys brought the wrong car.

  • говно это все. вот наш УАЗ хантер - тема.

  • why not drive around? xD

  • some of these guys liked off roading so much they bought a jeep

  • do these trucks have a reputation for braking down?? thinking about buying a used one 2009. has 42k miles 1 owner. mostly highway miles.

  • @megaflex48 Well, not long ago I read an artical in a Tacoma newspaper which stated that three of the LEAST reliable vehicles manufactured were 1.- Land Rover, 2.- Jeep, and 3- Mini Cooper. That was several years ago, maybe the newer ones have improved.

  • land rovers new slogan "you WILL get where you need to go. . how ever have a back-up landy for WHEN you breakdown!"

  • My dad had a range rover then he sold it because he was paying to much to fix it so he bought a Mercedes Benz G-500

  • @MrAirsoftman2222

    no one asked..

    wkwkwkwk...

  • What kind of fuckhead does that in RR sport?

  • why do rangies get pride? cos they get over ANYTHING in their stride....

  • "A bit of luck." No luck with a Land Rover. All confidence.

  • 4:10 if someone has a range rover and asks can they get over a rock the size of a baseball u need to punch them in the mouth take there keys and give them a go kart.

  • @ kbs1664

their full time all wheel drive. no need to put it in 4x4

mine even has diff lock and i have an older model.

so i can't imagine what these things are capable of .

  • I don't get whats so exciting going over rocks at 1mph.. and paying 70,000 dollars for it... ugh.

  • Might have gone better if you had some real off-road tires not that street low-profile crap that SUV's come with nowadays.

  • Its funny because there is a ford 2011 Explorer ad to the right

  • It's a shame 99% of the people who buy range rovers will never even put it in 4wd. I personally like the land rover LR3. Nothing beats a jeep though!

  • the old land rovers are better

  • GET A JEEP!

  • half a million dollars worth of vehicles but 30k dollars worth of vehicular work..... Land Rover helps BP leak oil in places it never thought it could.....

  • These were novice drivers being spotted, and man if I had $100,000 for a truck, I would be climbing wall's and getting air in the sand dunes!

  • Actually up untill 2:32 its all about driving skills, if the the driver wasnt a pro there was no way that RR could get up there. with that driver he could have got any 4x4 up there. The technique he used was switching between brake and gas pedals rapidly to gain traction.

  • Would not buy this, the best day for the owner is when he sells it to another sucker.

  • good on them for taking the range rovers outside of a parking lot for a change!

BTW: try doing that rock crawling in a manual, its a b!tch!

  • 99% of these vehicles will never see any kind of off roading

  • @drumguy126 Landcruiser does :D

  • nevermind I only thought the RRS could get the active rear diff lock. However, while building my own RR I too could add rear diff lock for 500 dollars as an exterior option. So really the Sport and the RR are the same except for extra luxury features on the RR

  • They cut out the part where the Jeep driver was getting pissed at the range rovers getting stuck and drove around them.

  • Offroad what would win Range rover vs range rover sport? I know that the sport has the rear locking diff but was wondering if that would make it that much more capable

  • might help to get those street tiers off and put offroad rubber on. and the wheels should go as well.

  • @Porsche1080 Thanks for not appreciating a joke.

  • good car tracktion

  • I wonder how much was the maintenance bill on the transmission and differential gear. I know for sure the Range Rover can't take a big off-road hit like that one. The car is too sensitive.

  • I do that with my Civic all the time. lol

  • @TechGeek95 another 9 year old jealous boy on YouTube. Always happens

  • @Porsche1080 who here is 9?

  • Correction to leader guy - they were going up the bypass to Wipeout hill. Wipeout hill is off to the left of what they are doing. The main step on wipeout hill would be far too big for most stock vehicles (not just rovers) to do without some body damage. With rovers' traction control and such, they can really suprise their owners with where they will go. Good times.

  • i have a feeling that while this looks impressive for a $70,000 car, it wouldn't be so impressive to see a jeep...or my trooper do this.

  • @719FoxRider719 I would have to agree.

  • @719FoxRider719 its actully a $100,000 dollar car

  • @lunamon15 i stand corrected. regardless...this only helps my case

  • @719FoxRider719 what I find impressive is they seem to have road tires on.

  • @719FoxRider719 lool what an idiot Jeep couldn't do like Range Rover ! JEEP is the most sucking car i ever see involved Lada. Fuck all Americans cars

  • @elcapitano5puyol way to use an online translator---and ya know what? judging by your lack of english, it was probably an american, and his jeep who saved you and your country at some point in the past so give the american car some credit.

  • @719FoxRider719 nah im from europe ( France ) i have a 05' Range Rover i can move anywhere!

  • @elcapitano5puyol what did i tell ya-if it weren't for the Americans and their jeeps, you would be speaking german! have a nice life idiot.

  • @719FoxRider719

looking at the world as it is today i wonder if that would'nt be a bad thing and the germans do make vv good cars

  • @719FoxRider719 cause some piece of shit trooper cant do that...

  • need bigger tires and a lift on that thing. Why would you buy the sport anyway, normal Range Rover is MUCH better

  • @sarzamineiran not necessarily, depends on how you will use it

  • @ohiost8freak True but offroading is 50% car, 40% tires, 10 % driver

  • impressive, coming from a jeep guy, to omid11 the jeep rubicon is the best out of the box 4x4 you can buy, the rover you can do so much, the jeep has endless

    possibilities

  • haha I would never take a 70,000 dollar car off roading

  • @ChampNike

Because that's what Range Rovers and Land Rovers were always built for. There's bits of the world that have never seen vehicles other than a Land Rover, and they killed their official Paris Dakar rally because they didn't think it was hard enough on their vehicles any more.

Perhaps a better question is: Why would you buy a vehicle that's that good off road, and just drive your kids to school in it?

  • @Aranthei answer: cause that's all theyre good for. they may have been good offroad but now they're marketed purely as a status symbol. the offroad capabilities are only there cause that's the roots of the vehicle. the fact that they come with low profile street tires and that they have a range rover "vogue" tells you this isnt a true offroad vehicle. seriously, what offroad vehicle come in a vogue edition. thats like how hummers come with chrome nerf bars and running boards. its all show no go.

  • Hey Americans: Range Rover is the best stock 4x4. How mad are you faggots?

  • @omid11

Coming from some dick bag that doesn't even own a 4x4?

Not to bad, my jeep has always been there for me

  • It's always been there stuck in the mud needing assistance from the proper rover.

  • @omid11

    Right,

you make me sad, go play with your hot wheels kid

  • @omid11 hahahaha absolutely not man a stock jeep wrangler will do twice as much as a stock range rover. i will bet money on it too, jeeps are the best stock offroad vehicles ever made

  • jeeps are pieces of shit don't even get started

  • @omid11

Phhhtt, Do you own a jeep? I've owned a Jeep Grand Cherokee for 6 years now without any major problems.

I always figured wranglers were their main off road model, but I was very surprised at the performance of my Cherokee.

Plus it's half the price for a land rover.

  • Honestly, you drive a jeep all you jeep fanboys are all the same. YE MERICAN CARS ARE NUMBER 1 DErpDERp. I laugh at your failness *LEWL* TROLLOLOL

  • @omid11

Jeep fan boy? The only reason I bought it because it was cheap, it had 4x4 and low miles. I'm just saying i've been very happy with it. I didn't say it was number 1.

If I wanted to get a range rover, i would of paid twice the money, easy. Plus i don't think i'd notice much better performance.

What's your deal with rovers anyway? Did your boyfriend give your first facial in the back of one or what?

  • @kawasakirider78 i bet my scout can out do ur wrangler

  • @kawasakirider78 Really? H1 hummers must have just been my imagination.

  • @omid11 hummers.......

  • Now you jus trollin, doood

  • @omid11 Now THAT is hilarious! You are a professional comedian aren't you! They are THE WORST in the world!

  • I am very glad you found my previous comment(s) amusing, 3Mudbone1. But Rovers breathe, compress, exhaust -- THE WILD OFF ROAD CONJUNCTIONS! tell me: when jeeps get stuck who winches them out? ANOTHER jeep?! Please! it would just stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck and stuck. Until the Mightily BRITISH Rover pulls 'em out.

    You're welcome.

  • Thats like saying why would you buy a ferrari or lambo and beat it up at the track? This is what these trucks are really made for.

  • Why would you buy such an expensive vechile and take it offroading?

  • @ChampNike because if your rich enuff to get a few then you can get em fixed with no prob

  • ha! this is where that woman from "I shouldnt be alive" almost died.

  • Imagine this with tires !

  • Great performance, even with dandy rims and tyres, designed more to impress ladies at Mariott and providing grip at 160 km/h, than conquering the desert.

  • Too bad 99.9% of these vehicles are owned by soccer moms and will never see offroad use.

  • JEEP! nuff said

  • @Gocza1377 lol

  • RR is the best!!!

  • "to tackle this last part..." ect, no you don't need lots of throttle and momentum, you could use a mini van and go up the sandy hill. just deflate the tires 10-15 psi.

  • iv got a range rover in real

  • FKN A

  • mad props

  • that's very impressive for a car that is sporty as a sedan and has a top speed of 140 mph

  • I have a 2003 AWD Range rover and I remember being concerned about having a all-terrain vehicle, but I have used 3 times the AWD system in 7 years.. Do we really need a AWD in Nortwest-Mexico and Southwest USA.??.

  • @sequiaonda78 absolutely, I lived in the desert Southwest most of my life and used 4-wheel drive almost every weekend. We took weekend trips all over the place, often times just to test our vehicles limits and be in the great outdoors.

  • best way to use an rr

  • well, with race tires like that, it's not bad I must admit. But the car is way too expensive and unfortunately, the symbol of NOUVEAU RICHES, people who want to show the world they earn a lot of money. This is why I prefer my peasant 1972 Landrcruiser, able of the same prowesses without any electronics... But thumbs up, I didn't think the range rover was for anything else than parking in front of snobbish clubs and racing on straight even highways...

  • who gives a crap?
