Nelo Angelo's theme in DMC1, Ultra Violet/Super Ultra Violet, was purposely made similar to this theme to give us a hint that Nelo Angelo, Dante, and Sparda were related somehow. Kind of cool that the composers for the game did that, but I don't think anyone expected that plot twist at all the first time they played the game through.

@DemonHunter451 that would be the best moves for Capcom instead of reloading sh*t of Dante again, I mean, though Sparda is a Demon he can take human looks and such a story would ground the awesomeness of DMC. And they could even reuse all the bosses from the previous games and weapons as well, don't see why it is so difficult for them to understand. Sparda would give enough story material as well, his personality (which is probably one Vergil desperately tries to copy), his quest, motives etc.
