  • Nice one Freddy. Three fives and a jack in your hand, with the turn-up a five that 'suits' your Jack! I.e., top score for this. ( I could never count to 31!) Keep 'em coming my friend.

    John ..

  • @Jazzwayze hi John ! nice to hear from you again ! hope you start blessing us with your smooth jazz again ! 15 - 2 - 4 and a run of 8 is 12 . i'm out . you owe me 5 bucks . LOL !

  • You are a great inspiration to me .Thanks much Freddy : )

  • Another taste of ear candy from the humble master. Great stuff!

    allen

  • @carvetop01 thx Al ! i see your slumming today . lol ! i hope you give this one a go maestro !

  • Fantastic! Really enjoyed your playing, as always.

  • sounds great MR!!

  • @thenatureway thank you very much ! i just watched your latest video ! just great ! but it made me home sick .

  • @freddym223 maybe you should go back there again! Hawaii are the heaven on earth!

but I feel peace in your art of music! which you make every where is heaven!

    take care:)

  • My favorite, freddy I love that feeling!!!!

  • @amber123446 thankyou Amber ! i'm always happy to hear when a good woman likes my music ! or even a bad woman . LOL ! stay safe mi amiga ! :-)

  • @amber123446 good or bad u right LOL!!!

  • wonderful way for me to relax on a Tuesday night. Freddy, his guitar, and a nice cuppa for me. :)

  • @Caseysmom2 thankyou very much ! enjoy your cuppa ! well i guess i'll put this guitar away and pl;ay some chess to relax ! have a nice night !

  • Also nice, which I discovered afterwards, is that you know Victor van Kampen, who is my present teacher, and whom you know via his sun, who is good in an other hobby of yours: chess (in which I am not skilled whatsoever btw.).

    I like these coincedents .........

Keep up your age and the fun in making music...

Pieter (1951, nylon/steel and L4, trying to play theme and chords at the same time like you).

  • @pha003 yes ! Vic was the first person i made friends with on youtube . he is also one of my favorite guitarists ! your in good hands with vic as your teacher !

  • Fred: thank you for this standard that I did'nt know, and I was very respectfully hearing you play it, in such a fine manner and beautiful tone; hearing lived-through-intentions, it's great, and again: respect and admiration are still the first thoughts upon hearing your interpretation. I'm already studying it including melody, your fretboard-settings show the way. I'll try to introduce it tomorrow with my fellow-guitarists.

  • @pha003 well, i have to thank you very much for such a nice comment ,and also for putting it on your favorites ! actually it's a very popular tune . i believe Johnny Mathis made it famous . i just threw in "Remembering Rio".to fill in some air time LOL! mainly because i liked it . :-)

  • Really nice playing, Freddy! I enjoy your musicality and your lack of pretense. I look forward to seeing/hearing all your future posts.

  • @MaxTooney thankyou very much ! it's getting a little too cool for chess in the park . so i'm starting to play guitar again . lol !

  • Great job!!!

  • @giulianoligabue thx for listening Giuliano !

  • Beautiful, my! Just beautiful!

  • @MrRobby280 thankyou for the nice comment !

  • Hi, Freddy, lovely and relaxing!!!! love it, love it, your friend from Miami...:-) :-)

  • @amber123446 Hi kind woman ! thankyou very much ! your amigo desde Arizona ....:-) :-)

  • Wht a gift! Your style is why I play guitar (or try to). Love it, love it, love it!

  • @ronhurak thankyou and keep playing that geetar !

  • thanks for the post freddy,as always excellent

  • @terryrich7 thx for taking the time to listen my friend !

  • Nice legato technique. This song has always been one of my favorites, from the original by Johnny Mathis version to Kenny Rankin. Do you by any change have the music to your interpretation? Thanks!

  • @ged4029 thankyou ! sorry, but i didn't write it out . i play it a little different every time i play it .

  • Smooth and dreamy--I am inspired to get back at it. Diane guitarpd1

  • Aces again...some great nuance ideas for my own rendition...first time I ever heard this tune was from a jazz guitar guy named Jimmy Ponder, with a Bob James string arrangement, back in the day when FM radio was a lot different than AM...but then I got into the folks records and Nat's album "Love is the Thing" lays it out...great touch, another Freddie in my Favorites...thanks!!

  • @jefferzone61 thx again ! also thx for favorites ! but don't give me too many nice comments or you'll make me think i know what i'm doing ! and that could be dangerous because my head might explode :-(

  • I think Johnny Smith wasn't as well known because his 'heyday' was the 50's...He DID have a lot of LPs then...and was always the classiest guitarist in the jazz/easy listening genre. The way you played When Sunny Get's Blue is VERY reminiscent of his multiple lead note chord melody arrangements... I love dropping by and hearing your always tasteful playing!..

  • @Rowlandph Johnny was about thee hottest guitarist in New York at one time.but then he moved to colorado and opened a music store. his grand daughter commented on my video of" Moon light in vermont" and said he doesn't play anymore. it doesn't matter because he already played more notes than i could play in 10 life times.

  • Freddy,...You remind me of Johnny Smith!...you really do!...Excellent!!..I think Johnny would agree, too!..

  • @Rowlandph thankyou very much ! but that's an awful big shadow to walk under ! you know,i've often wondered why he's not as well known as ,say a Wes Montgomery or a Barney Kessel, or Joe Pass . he's one of the best pickers that ever lived !

  • Beautiful, Freddy. Excuse my ignorance: But what backing-tracks do you use? They seem to give you some freedom and dont get too much in the way ....

  • @HFSTube i make my own backup with the software "band in a box". this way i have complete control over the volume of each instrument and also the tempo.i don't want loud drums and stuff . i just want a very soft backup.

  • Great Freddie,I really enjoyed your 2 harmonized theme's,the second one I didn't know (but I do now, lol) beautiful creative chord-voicing giving both tunes that rich sophisticated Jazz sound. See you're still doing great guitar-work besides your chess playing. Yesterday my son came home from a tournament in Hengelo (Holland)he became first and brought home some good money ( I can't earn that with my gigs),I'm glad for him.Freddie check out my latest tunes you might enjoy them, greetings.

  • @Jazzguts thx Vic ! i have listened to all of your tunes . i don't know those new ones though. i guess i'm out of the loop . :-( actually i listen to your older jazz things a lot . i like to play chess while i listen to your jazz tunes . it relaxes me and i'm hoping your smoothness will rub off on me ! and also some of those neat ideas you come up with.

  • really great guitar playing freedy like usual

thanks a lot friend for your guitar work

  • @carlos13190 thankyou very much Carlito ! i've been listening to you play on that very nice guitar ! you sound very good !!!!!

  • Another nice one Freddy! Fresh out of the oven...

  • @Tchairdjian thx Dick ! i havn't been playing guitar lately so my finger tips are burning like they came out of the oven . :-( i need to get off that chess board and play some geetar !

  • once again, your tunes never fail to bedazzle me!

  • @nickhansbauer thx for listening Nick .gotta look up bedazzle ! LOL !

  • Gentleman of Guitar.

    Love your videos.

  • @PastoKage grazie ! nice of you to say that !

  • @freddym223 You really play with your heart, and I love that. I can feel it.

I wish to became good as you one day !

I still have lots and lots of stuff to learn, and I never had a teacher, but I will keep on playng, because I love it.

  • @PastoKage atta boy ! just keep at it . i never had a teacher either . just use your ears keep playing . but don't try to hard . enjoy the learning .that 's the best part . i'm still learning .

  • @freddym223 I think the same way as you ! ! ! We maybe love the guitar in a really similar way . . . Play guitar Just because we love to play, without too much hard training, without be angry for what we cant do.

    I like you man ^^

  • That should read nice laid back playing - not ince laid back playing! Sorry!

  • @SmallDays1 thankyou very much ! but don't worry. after a couple hours trying to figure out INCE i finally got my 6 year old neighbor to decode it for me ! :-(

  • Nice one Freddy! Lovely guitar tone standing out against the backing track, ince laid back playing! Best wishes, Dave (Small Days)

  • One of the best things I ever did was subscribe ... lovely tone and technique Freddy.

  • @LittleMickyFingers thx Micky ! i subscribed to you because your one heck of a guitarist !

  • I was wondering about you..nice to hear you again :)

  • @jaybambu thankyou ! i'm still around . like a bad penny,i keep showing up .

  • GREAT SONG AND AN EXCEPTIONAL ARRANGEMENTS FREDDY. I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF COMBINING THESE TWO SONGS BUT YOU MAKE IT WORK. YOU ARE LAYING DOWN SOME VERY COLORFUL HARMONY MAESTRO. VERY FLUID LEADING OF THE THEMES. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF GOOD TASTE COMBINED WITH SOULFUL PLAYING. THERE IS A LESSON HERE FOR ALL OF US.

    BRAVO,

    ALLEN

  • @carvetop01 thx Allen ! i havn't been playing the guitar lately,so i figured i better play something before i forget how ! hey ! that hurts my finger tips ! i better get some calouses back :-(

  • Pure perfection Freddie! Always great to here one (or in this case two) of your interpretations.....! wonderful!

  • @JazzEthics thx Lar ! i could be wrong, but it seems you mentioned this tune to me a couple years ago . well somebody did anyway LOL! my memories heading south :-(

  • Nice demonstration of playing in melody in chords,Freddy, but more than a demonstration, it sounds really great. I´m a fan of Oscar Peterson (have lots of vinyls;-)), and he´s playing those block chords on piano....just had to think of him when I watched your video.

    Cheers, Frank

  • @FrankRMusic thx Frank ! nice of you to say you thought of Oscar Peterson when you watched my video !

  • Very nice freddy. Its good to see another video from you.

  • @clewi1091 thx ! good to hear from you again !

  • Hey Freddy,

good to see you it is a while ago... Really nice playing with dancing fingers!!! Hug Sarah :-)

  • @sguitar thankyou Sarah ! they say absence makes the heart grow fonder LOL ! hugs back :-)

  • Clean, crisp and smooth. A great job, Freddie!

    Fri

  • @FriPilot Thx Fri ! that's what i was trying for . i wanted it to cut through the light backup .

  • Great playing Freddy.

  • @CarlosPinto88 Hi Carlos ! thx for listening !

  • very nice as usual. like it very much. keep on going freddy.

  • @theobuitendijk thankyou ! and thx for urging me on ! sometimes i need a push in my old age .lol !

  • great playing as usual freddy . In 5 more years i will do as you . Retire and devote the rest of my life to my mistress ,my guitar lol ! Later man !

  • @Arriscraft thx Robert ! sounds like you have it all figured out ! i wish you the best of luck in your retirement with your mistress ! LOL ! now get practicing damn it ! ;-)

  • OK. That's it buster!! You and Marlene are moving to Lake Havasu so I can finally have that great guitarist for gigs I've always dreamed of and I can just sing. This one is very special indeed. Perfection in motion. SOOOO clean.....love you bunches my friend......Pamela

  • @Harky1951 thx Pam ! we are packing our things and heading down to your place ! we may have to stay at your house for 5 or 6 years till we find a house that's suitable for our taste . LOL ! set up some high paying gigs, because i don't even take my ax out of the case for less than a hundred dollars ! lol ! but $25.00 will do for now .
