I believe techno is alot like Acid and traditional house.(simply because of the Roland products which made "Dance music" possible in the late eighties when the chicago acid and experimental house scene was booming)

Likewise, trance is not techno. Techno and Trance are two seperate genres which share the same origin - Electronica and should not be confused between the two. Lots of people get these two mixed up and it sometimes make both of the genres look ridiculous. I think the common enemy between the two: Happy Hardcore.
