This Kangaroo is one of the lucky ones.In the Pibura in Western Australia Kangaroo's have all but been wiped out. Even the professional shooters have nothing to kill as all the "Hunters"have been in and slaughtered every living thing including the protected species,the Joeys(which are normally spared to keep numbers up) which are then just left to rot.Blame the Western Australian Government who do nothing to protect our Kangaroos in their own environment. it's not a good idea to 'play' with wild kangaroos like this - particularly males. Hand-raised ones are different - this guy is actually very lucky he wasn't seriously hurt. He did everything wrong - to a male kangaroo, an upright posture is a threat and a challenge, this roo was probably a few pokes away from attacking him...sheer idiocy. Roos can do some pretty nasty damage, but they're not evil or anything! haha. I've raised joeys as a carer, they're beautiful and very sociable.
