I Guess you have never listened to the band members talk. Especially Page and Jones. They all said he had a slow timing on his foot. They said that is why they loved him, his slow heavy foot. If you don't hear that in songs like "The Ocean" then you need to get back to the kit and learn what timing means.

we all know Bonham was incredibly fast with the bass drum pedal, more so than most drummers are with two, but i think you are confused those timing statements, I have read things about his timing which you read as "slow and heavy" whille his drumming does have a heavy vibe you are confusing that he always drummed on the very last possible part of the beat, he wasnt slow he was right on time but its his characteristic style of hitting the beat that way and thats a funk drumming technique
