That's stupid that you can trademark names. How can one do anything when people are claiming WORDS? We only have 600,000 of them, and we have more people wanting to trademark.
if you post a peice of art on a website with leagal stuff so if i find it i can sue them . will it be ok ? cause i'm a little nervous to put my work up so what kind of infingment is it?
Digimon is a much darker, much more serious, much more elaborate, much more mature story than pokemon, and the only correlations between yuugi ou and pokemon are that they've both been adapted into ccgs. It's not physically possible for yuugi ou to be a ripoff of digimon, since it debuted simultaneously with pokemon, the year before digimon. Pokemon's creator is neither autistic nor epileptic. In the futureget your facts straight--the only one you're making look bad is yourself.
you know what really annoys me? the Bratz Doll company trademarked my name! i mean, wtf... if i wanted to use my name in something i probably couldn't cuz of trhe stupid bratz dolls.
well i have viewed other youtube videos and i seen cartoons smoking back in the day and i don't see what the big deal is anymore. It was OK then but not now? that is stupid
i want to know how you can get your artwork put on toys, my husband and i are both artists and we would like to get into the business of advertising/ making packaging for items. i would love some information about this. thanks!!
As soon as you said 'Cocomon' at the beginning of the video, I at once wondered if you'd be mentioning that Bandai has Kokomon trademarked. xD Way to hit the nail on the head once again, and keep up the good work!
Hello Mike, I have one concern about copyrighted titles. I am a filmmaker, and plan to send in a film in a year called "Tales from the Bark Side," some early storyboards are here on youtube. But I just found out, that that name is claimed as a book title for stories about people's pets. If I plan to go somewhere with this title for my film later, should I change the title now? Or is it not that big of a deal, since I see so many low budget titles being used for bigger, more noticeable projects?
Do you have to pay to trademark a name? I'm doing some gameprogramming and I have my own little series of games with a character which means a lot to me. How do I trademark it do none other could use it or its name?
cocomon is kinda like copying off pokemon not just cuz they ryme...but pokemon is actually short for pocket monster and cocomon is coconut monkey... anyone else see where this is going??
I would go with shock rocking myself... make it memorable in a bad way, yet people will forget the bad and only remember the product, have the person give the drink to another guy... surprise ending!!!
I think it is weird to copyright or trade mark a name. How can you do that? I can understand copyright or trade mark a character (looks and name), but not a name...
I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. Its nice.
Mike, how do you copyright books and writing? Is it automatically copywritten? Or do you need to stake your claim like the TM thing? Also, how does this work with free publications on the internet? Should you copyright your work online? How do you do that?
I apologize. I meant to say "Kokomon" or "Cocomon," indicative of two different Digimon. To my knowledge, neither is trademarked, registered or common law.*
*I am not an attorney (yet), please do your own legal research to be sure.
mike, please post new funny videos on JeepersMedia! I love your new channel, it's just that I want some laughs, and since you're the best comedian around....
pm or PM is short for "private message", and is often used interchangeably with "instant message" or the youtube (or any other site's) inter-user message system.
off topic, you wouldn't believe the amount of questions I get asking about legality on things. I am a process and safety engineer - my job is to make sure a product conforms to certain published standards (mandatory/voluntary), and your videos are much on the money from my informal understanding of copyright and trademarks
I rarely delete posts, They would need to be so bad that I would block the user. My fans mark as spam anything that they feel is nasty or abusive. Like is someone posts You F*cking *ssh*le, my viewers mark it as spam for me so it disappears.
That's likely what happened! Or someone marked you as spam accidentally when they were going to reply to you.
I gave you a 5-star rating. Your TM opinion was very informal. If some other people want to learn more about that or [my preference] Sonic the Hedgehog, they will certainly turn to you, the TOP Guru! :-)
I find this video awesome. It explains alot and I do remember the beer commercial with the drifting tattoos.
I was wondering, do you find that companies who happen to sell a great toy, end up abusing that creation to no ends? Like tickle me elmo took new heighs on my -avoid- list as well as Furbies and the newly evolved littlest pet shop toys...they look like boggle heads now...I still own some of the originals. What are your thoughs?
yeah those name problems are a real problem, i have a character for my book who is army related so i added a fake serial number to her name to make it unique. great video once more
WHAT WERE some of the commercials you help make or did and for what and how would i be able to start in the advertising buisness cause this is what im hoping to do when i grow up
Ahhh..Yes, the Simpsons. Yellow skin actually works fine for Many Cartoon Characters, Tweety Bird, for Example.
But representations of people, either real or realistic CGI, with Yellow or Yellowish complexions, have been tested for years for different marketing reasons and draw negative reactions in television commercial productions, especially for food or beverages.
