Question: At :55 there is a home screen I see again and again with this big calendar and sun display that takes up the top third of the screen, that I do not like. Can this be removed?

sorry but this is not the official version of 2.1 for droid because the official on has up to 3, 5, 7, 9 homescreens and now can have annimated wallpaper.... also this is crap 2.1 all you have to do is go to phonedog and scroll down and you will see it

@sixoneseven89 No Droid has this update yet, this is a hacked Droid using a 2.1 ROM. Motorola is supposedly releasing 2.1 for Droid within the next couple of weeks.

no need to update that version of it right now and have all those problems he is having just wait and in another 2 weeks we will all have 2.1 running on our iphone killer with very few problems :) and it will include animated wallpapers you will not have to do any file transferring that he is talking about :)

Nope, 2.01 is different to 2.1.

2.01 is coming very soon, this month.

2.1 is on nexus one. Will hit the droid in about two months.

Looks about the same speed to me. Though Droid should be faster with display because of the dedicated graphics. I think the software needs to be more efficient. Or needs better display drivers for the Droid.

agps doesn't use cell towers INSTEAD of satellites! It means Assisted GPS and uses your data connection to get your initial location more quickly and to help it calculate which satellites to look for, speeding up the initial fix. Once it's fixed your position it uses GPS as normal.

What I hate about the OS phones is that when you try to do something the transition is not as smooth as it should be. Not counting Nexus One - only phone that is not iPhone was HTC HD2 that was flying with all transitions when something is clicked on - Way to go Google - I am waiting Nexus to see what miracles it can do :)
