i will agree with you that pregnancy is not a disease but when a woman is pregnant her body normally starts to respond hereby causing morning sickness, vomiting and etc(so she needs to be examined and taking care of properly by doctor). all this sign should not be termed as a disease. doctor also check for any signs of complication that may occur before hand. what if there was a disease before the pregnancy?

For God's sake, pregnancy isn't a disease! This is why some of us choose to go UC - we don't like being someone's peep show or gropefest. It's humiliating and unnecessary.
So, what is your point? Why are you saying this? Where did the opinion that women are treated like a disease and more likely to be so when pregnant? And the groping? Or peep show? Who does that to you?
@LoveMokes Well, did you watch the video? Why would a healthy pregnant woman need a complete physical exam? She could just check the baby's size and ask if the lady is feeling plenty of movement. That's good enough, if the lady is not reporting any symptoms! That's all my midwife did. I'm sure she would have done more if the lady had requested it, like if she had symptoms, or wanted reassurance, (yes I know some people prefer the midwife/doctor be more thorough with them)...
@Jojoseahorse ...but most women I know certainly do not want anyone touching their breasts or sticking things into their vaginas. In my country (UK) these exams aren't done to ANYONE, and haven't been in years (I had my first one there 25 years ago), and somehow we have managed to keep our population going! These things don't even give you relevant information about pregnancy - more and more caregivers are acknowledging that. Come on - who needs their knees hit with a hammer?!
@Jojoseahorse getting your knees hit with a "hammer" is to make sure you reflexes are still ok. carrying the extra weight can cause back problems, and cause serious long term damage if it is not managed
@LoveMokes The women gyno's are not looking for a peep show. They're making sure the woman and the baby are healthy. They test for sicknesses and diseases to make sure they have an easy pregnancy. Being pregnant isn't a disease. They are being taken care of as well as examined.
@astorar1 That's exactly my point! Being pregnant isn't a disease, so why would they have to "test for sicknesses and diseases"? Pregnancy does not cause a woman to become unhealthy! If the baby is growing and the woman feels good, there is no need to check for anything, unless the person wants them to! Women need to take back the power :)
