imagine if he made that last second shot in game 7. That would be epitomized the franchise imo. Thanks VC,I don't understand why raptor fans still boo this fella. He bought the franchise on the map. Boo Bosh, but not this guy
@GeGeMus12 Hmm... so Cavs fans shouldn't boo Lebron James? He took them to some fantastic heights and then ditched them. Ditto for Vince. I worshipped VC as a child, but he made it very clear that he didn't want to play in Toronto anymore, no matter who he was playing with.
Watching this makes me kind of sad. Vince had every tool any basketball player has ever had. He didnt blow it, but he could have been one of the top 15 greatest NBA players ever. He ended up with a few good years, but it never really panned out like it should have.
Yo! Thumbs Up for the Purple Kids at 0:16. Because that's ME and my Best Friend man. I remember when the Raps were good. I Remember bein a SERIOUS fan. Those days will be back sometime soon...I hope.

this is the Vince carter i remember too, and i had one of the white jerseys like in this video and yes one of the purple jerseys with the dinosaur on it too.
@sagr32 This is an irrational argument , Forget the stats I don't think Kobe at that time would have led a team by himself in the play-offs.. the guy was still immature and his leadership skills weren't as good as they are today. He just had to go out there put up some good numbers next to Shaq and that was it.
@sagr32 maybe the other guys but Kobe was just playing second fiddle to Shaq so you can't compare him to Carter who was dragging a team single-handedly
If his career had progressed in a normal, natural way without the trades, the injuries, the adversity, the bullshit...his game and ability and style would be something between LBJ's and MJ's.
I couldn't even tell he reversed that dunk at 5:30 until I saw the replay from the low angle. Solid way to get his 50th points though I think a reverse is his "safe" dunk.
@superzvenomz thats sick bro... i remember i went to a game as a kid and everybody was waiting for carter to come out and sign stuff, and he pretty much ran on the bus and didnt care.... so he was and still is an ass hole. jalen seemed like a good guy tho
Blew my horn out after the game... it was crazy after the game all the cars honking theyre horns...
Hey does anybody have a picture of the huge VC billboard painted on the side of a building on Front Street... It was a video game joy stick with the" jump", "shoot" and "amaze" buttons??
Vince Carter was on his way to becoming one of the all-time greats in his Toronto days. Too bad injuries stopped that. He was averaging nearly 30 ppg in his Raptor days.
the sad thing about this is if vince had the drive that kobe has, he could've easily been the best player of the past decade. to me, he has more natural ability than kobe
@kobiashii1 completely agree. Vince is by far my favorite player of the past decade, but I will be one of the first to admit that his drive isn't always there. the games in which he seems to play with a purpose and WANTS to be unstoppable, he puts up huge numbers. He could easily have averaged over 30 a game for his career if he had the drive to do so.
I remember I was 10 years old when i watched this...eyes opened wideee Carter was my hero. my room was covered in carter posters,,pretty sure it was a friday night..oh mann I had the biggest smile on my face. Cant believe the misfortune :(
Chris who? Im sorry but there were four guys who got me into basketball. Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Vince Carter. THIS MAN CREATED THE TORONTO RAPTORS. IF IT WASN'T FOR HIM WE MIGHT BE THE MEMPHIS OR SEATTLE RAPTORS! TRADE HIM FOR TURKOGLU WE DON'T WANT HEDO GIVE US VINCE

@GeGeMus12 and would've made it past the bucks for sure, and he would've eventually lost to kobe in the finals, basically cause of the team but I think we would've seen an epic dual of 2 of the league's best players at the time, well...kobe still is, carter unfortunately is past his prime, altho still an excellent player, infact the reason he doesn't average so many points is cuz he's taking way fewer shots
seriously I don't get raptor fans, I mean ok I get it he left, you hate him...but really think about it...if you were the only guy on the team that actually did something, and everything depended on you, and you tried over and over, several seasons...and you still wouldn't get any help from any of the teammates woulnd't you wanna leave? he did EVERYTHING for you guys, doesn't matter on which note he left you should apreciate what he's done for u, cuz it's more than u'll ever get from bosh

no the franchise quit on him, they never surrounded him with a strong supporting cast or coach. If carter didnt play good, they lost. Maybe if Bosh wouldve came out a year or two later Carter wouldve still been in Canada
ur description is right lol, when people comment me telling me that vc blows or something i notice that most of them are young and don't even have a clue of what VC did for them back then.
yea vc has always been my favorite player, when he was in toronto he was by far the most talented player in the nba but never seemed to care enough to fully apply himself which is just too bad
I love Vc more than any player alive. He is a gentleman with morals plus he is a humble guy. My son friends were in AMemphis watching Nets play. After the game he took time to sign his autographs. He is a hall of famer too.
Carters still my favourite player, sure his departure sucked but hes the greatest player the Raps had Bosh is not even in his class. He put the Raps on the map. Fans should stop hating. He did more good than bad.
game 7 of this series was one of the best basketball games ive ever seen, as well as game 7 of sixers vs. bucks in the 2001 playoffs. that playoff run was unbelievable. that sixers team had so much passion and determination. i thought they had it wrapped up after they won game 1 against the lakers in the finals. but i guess not
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It's ok if Bosh leaves because he has done nothing wrong. He played 150% every game. On the other hand... carter, is just a fag, Search on youtube "top 10 reasons why Vince carter is shit"
I was at that game, one of the loudest ever at the ACC! Everyone just knew it was going to go in whenever Vince let it go.. too bad he didn't appreciate the city he played in.. hope he's having fun in the mausoleum in New Jersey!
We should just stop the hate, look at the positives like this instead of the negatives(injuries). Lets see if Bosh can ever put up a performance like this...
he has u dumb ass with 41pts 15 rebs and 10 assists vs washington... him and j kidd were the only teamates since mj and pippen to ever have triple doubles in the same game
We should just stop the hate, look at the positives like this instead of the negatives(injuries). Lets see if Bosh can ever put up a performance like this...
then u can go fuck urself u torontonian queer..i was the biggest raptors fan till the day VC returned to toronto in a different jersey...i couldnt believe what backstabbing fuckers u fans have been towards the player who was one shot away of takin ur asses to the finals but also put ur city on the map..VC rules n will always be the best raptor ever...fuck all u backstabbing betraying haters..no wonder y so many people hate the raptors
Even though VC did alot of good for the Raptors and put T.O. on the b-ball map, you can't deny the fact that he was also a backstabber. He signed a 7-year contract with the Raptors a few months after losing this series. That means he was COMMITTED to staying with the team until at least 2008. What did he do after signing the contract? He came back, and was injured for a good part of his next two seasons. In his third season after the contract, he played much better, but didn't make the playoffs.
Before VC's last season with the Raptors, he asked for a trade. Why? Just because the team didn't make the playoffs two years in a row? Maybe. Or it could have been the bad management, but the team contended for the playoffs until getting major injuries, in his last full season. The bottom line is, VC gave up on the team, the city, and the fans. He could have made the situation better by simply playing better, but gave up instead. He didn't even play in half of the years that he signed for.
Now look where VC is. He's on a rebuilding Nets team that will likely trade him within the next year. In 2 years, the Raptors rebuilt after VC was traded, and the funny part is that the Raptors barely got anything back in return! Obviously the Raptors won that trade because they're actually playing to win. VC is playing for the money, and I truly believe that he let his ego get the best of him.
VC had his flaws..n u just said injuries hurted this guys last days in toronto..but think for one freakin second how can a player fake his injuries?? the first thing when a player complains about an injury the team doctor will diagnose the injury n see whats the problem..n if the doctor doesnt find anything after many examinations then the players career will be jeopardized..he'll get kicked off the team for Gods sake..bottom line is the raptors quitted on him n they didnt listen to his requests
proud to be owner of a #15 toronto raptors t-shirt xD

Carters still my favourite player, sure his departure sucked but hes the greatest player the Raps had Bosh is not even in his class. He put the Raps on the map. Fans should stop hating. He did more good than bad.

game 7 of this series was one of the best basketball games ive ever seen, as well as game 7 of sixers vs. bucks in the 2001 playoffs. that playoff run was unbelievable. that sixers team had so much passion and determination. i thought they had it wrapped up after they won game 1 against the lakers in the finals. but i guess not

maybe bosh will leave us sometime after and rap fans will be all bosh-haters..

It's ok if Bosh leaves because he has done nothing wrong. He played 150% every game. On the other hand... carter, is just a fag, Search on youtube "top 10 reasons why Vince carter is shit"

Bosh has already become more injury-prone than Vince Carter, idiot. Rofl.

Vince Carter was better than Bosh will ever be. Anyone who disagrees must be a really young fan.

Lets see if Bosh can ever put up a performance like this...

and and 6 years later they are chanting
Let's go raptors, vc sucks!

then u can go fuck urself u torontonian queer..i was the biggest raptors fan till the day VC returned to toronto in a different jersey...i couldnt believe what backstabbing fuckers u fans have been towards the player who was one shot away of takin ur asses to the finals but also put ur city on the map..VC rules n will always be the best raptor ever...fuck all u backstabbing betraying haters..no wonder y so many people hate the raptors
omm85 3 years ago
Even though VC did alot of good for the Raptors and put T.O. on the b-ball map, you can't deny the fact that he was also a backstabber. He signed a 7-year contract with the Raptors a few months after losing this series. That means he was COMMITTED to staying with the team until at least 2008. What did he do after signing the contract? He came back, and was injured for a good part of his next two seasons. In his third season after the contract, he played much better, but didn't make the playoffs.
BlackJays 3 years ago
Before VC's last season with the Raptors, he asked for a trade. Why? Just because the team didn't make the playoffs two years in a row? Maybe. Or it could have been the bad management, but the team contended for the playoffs until getting major injuries, in his last full season. The bottom line is, VC gave up on the team, the city, and the fans. He could have made the situation better by simply playing better, but gave up instead. He didn't even play in half of the years that he signed for.
BlackJays 3 years ago
Now look where VC is. He's on a rebuilding Nets team that will likely trade him within the next year. In 2 years, the Raptors rebuilt after VC was traded, and the funny part is that the Raptors barely got anything back in return! Obviously the Raptors won that trade because they're actually playing to win. VC is playing for the money, and I truly believe that he let his ego get the best of him.
BlackJays 3 years ago
VC had his flaws..n u just said injuries hurted this guys last days in toronto..but think for one freakin second how can a player fake his injuries?? the first thing when a player complains about an injury the team doctor will diagnose the injury n see whats the problem..n if the doctor doesnt find anything after many examinations then the players career will be jeopardized..he'll get kicked off the team for Gods sake..bottom line is the raptors quitted on him n they didnt listen to his requests
