ive been going there for the past three weekends with no luck, using anchovies and just recently bloodworms but still no luck. I go around 5:30 -6:00 am and fish for a few hours. Im gonna try going in the afternoon. I have some wildeye crappie swim bait will that work too?
usually the aquaduct is so steep you cant reach the water. this guy actually pulled the fish out.
it is very dangerous to be on the slope, people have died(drowned) because when you fall in, you cant get out because of the slippery sides from all the algea
or the current sucks you under
even worse, look what happened to the maintenance divers who all drowned even with scuba gear
my dad and I went to the aquaduct yesterday, awesome time! the striper were feeding on the shad when we got there, I threw a hard black and silver jerkbait against the walls, ended up catchin 10 stripers in 2 hours ranging from 1-3 lbs, biggest one was 18" =/ so I couldnt keep it, but damn was it a fun day!!!
what u need to do is go to the coalinga cannal. ther is a big cannal and a small one were the pumps hardley run u throw a fluke or a sanko worm with a weedeless hook on it and u catch them all day
you need to go right up by where the water is rushing out i used to live in bakersfield and i went there and seen little 8 year old pull out a 45 pounder and like 3 20 pounders useing whole shad and just drop down by the corners and bam dude try and reply and tell me post a vid or something
My cuzin was fishing in the mendota delta and he caught a estimated 4and ahalf foot catfish no lie. they had it on the bank. his friend was to scared to grab it wen the fish pulled away it snaped the hook right off the line. they said it kept jumpin outta the water then disapeared he said it was a fish of a liftime he culdnt believe what he saw. im from madera aswell tho. and iv caught a few 8pound strippers outta there using a white 3inch lure that looks like a fish. i forget the name of it.
i went to; the aquaduct and used crankbaits, chovies, bloodworms, and liver and we didnt even get a bite.....is there something wrong with fish the duct in palmdale? is there no fish nere there?
on sundat june 22 08 i went fishing with 2 other guys and we cuaght 4 8pound catfish and 1 10puond catfish but i really want to get me a 10 20 30 pound striper any secrets that you have on how to catch stripers let me know i like to yous lures better than bait.
rc, It depends water conditions like if gates are open etc. They like the moving/swirling water or inlets, They've really been on the chovies lately You can visit the website forums We have striper area there, but I like using rattle traps, buckhair jigs & gitzits.
just before dark works best for lures as the bait fish get active. The trick is to get the lure all the way across the duct & retrieve very fast!!!
All the stripers there so small?
