@slightlyshattered i can't put videos up but if i could i would! but seriously? bent knees and toes aren't really going to win them the gold or anything at all would it? i would know what i'm saying, i'm a coach for acrobatics myself.
@jcloverx Which part, in particular? This is also a very old video. We ended up winning nationals three years in a row, and made it to finals at the world championships.
i think its funny how you guys went from level 9 to senior elite since nationals in july...i was the top of the mens pair who got second to you...and why didnt you go level 10 last year..on one of the videos it said you made it...and also i would of beat you if i didnt get in a car accident a month and a half before nationals..to where i broke my leg and my arm..on my right side of my body..
oh of course i knew that there was a ton of progression. i was referring to the exact training methods specifically. considering the length of time i did gymnastics for, i know next to nothing about acro. it actually only started to catch my attention after i quit.
i had always wondered how people trained for acro exactly. its an impressive sport that seems like it requires a lot of trust. i'm really impressed by it
this stuff is really amazing but not sure how practical it is for the Olympics( the two man team of the big guy and little kid) do u have prospects for that bcs they show potential
hey guys or anybody reading this, how do you practice the one handed handstand??? I can do a handstand all day long and am strong as hell, but am not flexible. what do you guys recommend for a one handed handstand??Like where do I start, does strecthing help and stuff?
One arm handstand is all about finding your center. It's much easier if it is performed with the legs in a straddle, with the legs slightly tipped toward the one arm. (see 1:50 - 1:55)
Best way to start is to do it against a wall, or have someone hold spot you in the position who knows what the body shape has to look like.
o well the old girl (Beth) quit and the middle (kate) broke her leg so me the top (kristen) is still doing it ... i am the main base of the lower level trio now. :( i hate that beth quit... i even cried but she got really bad tendinides in her arms and knees and wrist!!!!!!!! love, kristen (acrorox1234)
there doing senior moves and i don't see stretched knees or toes. if it were up to me they would all still be doing grade 2 lmao.

*shrugs*
we qualified level 10 at our second meet (ever).
We actually had to water down our routines for level 9 tremendously. Now we're the highest level mens pair in the country.
Go figure.
slightlyshattered 2 years ago
do you think you could have made elite with your old partner? And did Axl have a base before you?
Hakuslover 2 years ago
Don't know. He had an ankle injury, and grew quite a bit. He wasn't very easy to work with, either, lol.
I'm Axl's first and only partner.
slightlyshattered 2 years ago
Axl seems kind of the joke-ish type, like if he fell while in a balancing move, he'd lay there and curse himself for screwing the move up.
Anyway, good luck furthering you career.
Have fun.

*cheers* yay u and axel!!! i guess that answeres my question.. yall rock!!! (can u tell im a texan?) just wondering lol

If you're interested, you should check it out. It's a lot less brutal on your body, but still rewarding in it's own way.

y4nk5n3t52 2 years ago
Same way you train for any sport. Progression, progression, progression. You don't just hop up and do a double pike.
Tons of work on hand-balancing blocks, work in a spotting belt, in a foam pit, etc.
