This show took on issues like Orphan Drug Laws, which aid people with Tourette's and other disabilities. They don't make them like this any more. I have Seasons 1-3 and hope more come out.
Also, would reallllllly like to see Lannigan's Rabbi on DVD.
@dspecoraro It is doubtful that you will ever see "LANIGAN'S RABBI" ever again. In the old days, one would have waited for the TV movies to be shown on a now-extinct independent station. As there were only four episodes shown, a DVD is even less likely.
Mr. Stern is busy trying to get "I'M DICKENS, HE'S FENSTER" out on DVD. Perhaps once he has gotten good numbers on that one, he will concern himself with his other properties.
Quincy is an okay show, most memorable for the shouting matches he had with people, usually government officials who were corrupt. One memorable argument started 15 seconds into Quincy's conversation with the guy. Also, his nickname was "Quince", which was odd, considering, it takes just as long to say "Quincy" as it does "Quince". In the interest of full disclosure, I do have the first 3 seasons on DVD, and if any more come out, I'll buy those too. Quincy is great fun.
Do you have this entire episode? At the end of Quincy, during the Mystery Movie year, They would stop the film and play a similar version of this with some of the credits.
@sarnow76 Not anymore. As good as "QUINCY, M.E." was, there were not very many episodes that were so great that I would want to go back and watch them again. I do have the hysterical punk rock episode though, if for no other reason than the presence of a teenage Melora Hardin.
Yes, it WAS the "ABC's Suspense Theater" which was ABCs way of trying to capitalize on NBCs Mystery Movie powerhouse. (I thought that sounded odd - poor memory on my part)
There were three "movies" before the show went to series.
"THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN" premiered on March 7, 1973 as an episode of "THE ABC WEDNESDAY MOVIE OF THE WEEK." While MOTW was a series, it was usually not as specific to a genre as "THE NBC MYSTERY MOVIE" was unless it was "THE ABC SUSPENSE MOVIE".
At least "Crossing Jordan" had the decency to honour its ancestors (though you have to admit Jordan Cavanaugh is a lot sexier than Quincy) when Jack Klugman guested as a veteran M.E.
As much as I like the very familiar "Quincy" theme that was introduced in season 2, I liked this one as well. Watching the syndicated version of this episode (from season 1, Who's Who in Neverland) the end credits music was kept but the background was changed to the "Q" logo. Thanks for posting this.
I second the notion. "Qunicy, M.E." was a quality program on the NBC Television Network from 1976 until 1983. Thank you for the generous comment!! My favorite season would be the 1977-1978 Season. 6 Stars!!

I think most people forget that Quincy started as a Mystery Movie, then moved to his own show.
The same is true for The Six Million Dollar Man.
It started as a Mystery Movie (or the equivalent) but was quickly picked up as its own show.
Thanks for the post
