ouendan arguably had better songs than EBA but the first was really harsh and unforgiving to players that couldnt get 300s all the time. and the first didnt let you record your runs.

you guys are crazy if you guys think ouendan has better music than EBA. EBA has a lot of classic music that came out before most of you guys were even born. September from Earth Wind and Fire, Lets dance from David Bowie, YMCA its not all new age crap that we all hate on the radio. Anyone with a broad taste in music will appreciate its variety. I do like J-pop songs too but I also like K-pop, heavy metal, trans, hip hop, R & B, jazz, and disco so I don't limit myself to one thing.
u can't judge games just cause u can't understand the language, before MGS4 came out here (but out in JPN) its like saying it sucks because u can't read japenesse text
of course i can because if u cannot read the only thing that you can do is play not understanding anythin i played in ezflash v and it really sucks ouendan 1 u CAN'T EVEN skip before song and if u want to try again y have to wait a lot before u can the songs are boring men i already finished it and i deleted it because it bored me a lot the damn ppl dont dance just go to pose instead the girls even don't are cool or anithyn so for me EBA its a lot better has better songs and EBA rocks ;D
u are crazy i just played it in a flash card and its sucks the comic are lot boring the songs are not so bad but not that good even the guys dancing are boring even the cheer leaders lol the guys just go to pose instead of dancing the dont have even style dont go making comments without thinking just commenting like that i think EBA its a lot better
Not only that, EBA is better because it was the last game of the "saga", of course they added a lot of improvements. Not only more movement on the characters.
But also voices to the cutscenes and to Commander Khan during the training.

Jumpin Jack Flash... well, at least you can skip the 40 second intro, I think. Ouendan is better though, maybe only because I can't read or speak Japanese. And yay for Over the Distance, my favorite song thus far. XD
For the Japanese version would I have to know Japanese to be able to play it? Is there like specific objects/missions? (Though I know I might not be able to follow the little stories.)
I rather play the Japanese version than US (not because it's easier) because I check the US play list and it has music I'm don't like. Avria Lav something and Good Charlette. .__.; Just not my cup of tea.
you don't necessarily have to know japanese to play. my friend has it and i borrowed it from him, i caught on fairly quickly...
it's a great game, the graphics are pretty cool and the music is amazing [for me at least]. i really don't like the retarded american mainstream songs, so the japanese one was much better for me.
Yeah they are both pretty even. And they both accomplished something I always wished for a game:
Opening my mind for new music, or for bands I didn't hear yet. Both games gave me some new favourite songs. As for the language barrier of Ouendan, its not THAT much of a problem. Most of the comicstrips are pretty much selfexplaining. I enjoyed EBA, Ouendan 1 + 3 VERY much.
And the "to be continued" at both ends gave me hope that this awesome game series isn't over yet.
FINALLY! Someone who thinks exactly the same as i do about both games. All too often are people blamming EBA for its music and praising OTo for it's. About time someone with a wide taste in music comments.
That's nice, but next time you quote some dubious bullshit that you "read" on a public message board, I think you'll get your point across better by saying you "heard" the bullshit. That way, your reader (listener?) can tell immediately that you're spouting amateurish hearsay.
EBA was made after Ouendan so obviously EBA is better, I mean it's TECHNICALLY more improved. But I loved the ridiculously hot enthusiasm in Ouendan, which seems to be replaced by.. um, smartness? in EBA... I've enjoyed both games very much and love them!!
Because I am an American pig head, and for purposes of considering game release regions, it's rarely meaningful to consider any territories other than the US and Japan. Of course, you crazy europeos did publish an english language version of the Tingle game, and I love you for that.
Sorry, i've played both. OTO is harder, more entertaining, less stereotypical and cliched, better songs, and the EBA (while looking cool) are nowhere near as awesome as the Ouendan!
Sorry but the Agents just kick their ass. And the only reason you say it has better songs is because you are probably one of those people who bitch about subs being better than dubs.
The Japanese songs are cover versions too. You can't tell as much with them, but the bands performing some of the songs (The Anthem, Walkie Talkie Man and Without a Fight spring to mind) murdered them, just like in Donkey Konga
Well, maybe you can explain why the song for the oil baron stage is "Lets Dance".that doesn't make any sense to me.
I like eba better than oendan, but thats only because I don't speak Japanese, If you dont know the language I would not recomend importing osu tatkae oendan, but its definatly worth a try you have a flash card.
I disagree. I speak no Japanese, and I didn't have any problem with it. Many Japanese games are like that. If the game isn't inherently verbal, odds are it's not a hassle for an Englishman. Some even have their menus in english.
EBA music list is crap, the music in the Japanese version is alot better beat-wise, that's why Ouendan is alot better then EBA, hell even my mom said the Japanese music selections was better then the english one
Ouendn is the best and EBA can NEVER EVER compare to TEH AWESOMENESS of Ouendan...alone the music list makes me crie ...and the style of the ouendan characters is simply the highest.
Both games were made by the SAME company. The character style for both characters was derived by the same people. Just because there's a Japanese version it doesn't automatically make it better.
i know that ...but simply the style is different anyways. The characters may be on the same graphicstyle, but the charme is lost at EBA.
EBA is just not that catchy like Ouendan is.
If it`s differen fo you then it`s nice. You may like EBA better or both same, I don`t know. Cause I was speaking for me...my opinion. Which simply is that I never had as much fun playing EBA as playing Ouendan or now Ouendan2.
that`s all...but yes..the japanese makes it better (not alone though)
I own both Elite beat agents and Ouendan, and i am a freaken beast at that game. luckily i live in Seattle and there is a little import store only a 20 min buss ride from my house. i already have ouendan 2 preordered.
I love those games!!! ^^ they are so funny! ^^ I can now play with commander Kahn ^^ he is soooooo funny XDDDDDDDD because he does everithing like the divas xDDDDDD (how come!? O.o xDD that's impossible xDD) sorry but my english is not very good... --.--

ouendan1 pros: fire if you don't make mistakes, the insane mode beatmap is slightly but noticeable different from the hard mode one, fullmetal alchemist OP
EBA pros: skippable intros, tamer spinners, dancing moves ('cept in the insane mode), the rolling stones
ouendan2 pros: skippable intros & outros, fire, insane mode beatmap, tamer spinners, sambomaster, SPOILER?:hidden mode
I like both but I prefer ouendan mainly because of the insane mode beatmap. And the fire, it adds to the atmosphere.

tsk, tsk. EBA is the Spiritual successor to Ouendan not the sequel. Why should you care, I have no idea.
eagle1101 4 years ago
I read that both games are exactly the same, except with the different cheerleaders and western music
type7android 4 years ago
That's nice, but next time you quote some dubious bullshit that you "read" on a public message board, I think you'll get your point across better by saying you "heard" the bullshit. That way, your reader (listener?) can tell immediately that you're spouting amateurish hearsay.
PhilBond 4 years ago
EBA was made after Ouendan so obviously EBA is better, I mean it's TECHNICALLY more improved. But I loved the ridiculously hot enthusiasm in Ouendan, which seems to be replaced by.. um, smartness? in EBA... I've enjoyed both games very much and love them!!

u can import ouendan for like 40 bucks...
tokyodusty 4 years ago

tokyodusty 4 years ago

Nice review. I think both are good.

Why do you say America only in your video description? EBA came out in Europe.
Jabbs 4 years ago
Because I am an American pig head, and for purposes of considering game release regions, it's rarely meaningful to consider any territories other than the US and Japan. Of course, you crazy europeos did publish an english language version of the Tingle game, and I love you for that.

I love ouendan I passed every leval on 1&2&Elite beat agents
ThomatayoNeo 3 years ago
Elite Beat Agents was a very kick ass game. Better thean the Japanese version if you ask me
AwesomeAJ18 4 years ago
Sorry, i've played both. OTO is harder, more entertaining, less stereotypical and cliched, better songs, and the EBA (while looking cool) are nowhere near as awesome as the Ouendan!
NeoCydude 4 years ago
Sorry but the Agents just kick their ass. And the only reason you say it has better songs is because you are probably one of those people who bitch about subs being better than dubs.
AwesomeAJ18 4 years ago
The Japanese songs are cover versions too. You can't tell as much with them, but the bands performing some of the songs (The Anthem, Walkie Talkie Man and Without a Fight spring to mind) murdered them, just like in Donkey Konga
Well, maybe you can explain why the song for the oil baron stage is "Lets Dance".that doesn't make any sense to me.
NeoCydude 4 years ago
Walkie Talkie Man is actually better on Elite Beat Agents
AwesomeAJ18 4 years ago
Heretic!
NeoCydude 4 years ago
Less stereotypical? Ok, let's just talk crazy about the product that is clearly inferior by virtue of its Western-ity.

I want to get the japanese version...
tokyodusty 4 years ago
I like eba better than oendan, but thats only because I don't speak Japanese, If you dont know the language I would not recomend importing osu tatkae oendan, but its definatly worth a try you have a flash card.
oopo1 4 years ago
I disagree. I speak no Japanese, and I didn't have any problem with it. Many Japanese games are like that. If the game isn't inherently verbal, odds are it's not a hassle for an Englishman. Some even have their menus in english.
PhilBond 4 years ago
True, but it would be nice to understand the lyrics of the songs.
oopo1 4 years ago
i can't beat koi no dance site on hard is too tricky ><

RossMackinnon 4 years ago
Just dial "81" and then 10 random numbers. That should get you japan! Don't worry, they all speak english over there. ^_^
UncleCliff 4 years ago
EBA music list is crap, the music in the Japanese version is alot better beat-wise, that's why Ouendan is alot better then EBA, hell even my mom said the Japanese music selections was better then the english one
mimura47 4 years ago
Ouendn is the best and EBA can NEVER EVER compare to TEH AWESOMENESS of Ouendan...alone the music list makes me crie ...and the style of the ouendan characters is simply the highest.
OUENDAN FTW
McRib 4 years ago
Wow...fanboy much?
Both games were made by the SAME company. The character style for both characters was derived by the same people. Just because there's a Japanese version it doesn't automatically make it better.
ColorOfSakura 4 years ago
i know that ...but simply the style is different anyways.
McRib 4 years ago
I own both Elite beat agents and Ouendan, and i am a freaken beast at that game. luckily i live in Seattle and there is a little import store only a 20 min buss ride from my house. i already have ouendan 2 preordered.
Check out their online store.
