If a more compelling & achingly accurate song about schizophrenia & the perils of insanity exists, I have yet to hear it. The haunting, repetitive whispering in the background mimics to a T what it feels like to hear voices, & then their PLEAS at the end - "REALITY COME BACK TO ME" - before the squirrely one jumps to his death shake me to my core. Its like this clausterphobic world has captured his very soul, so the only way to STOP THE INSANITY is to create his own demise. Chilling & visceral!

@jasonismyhomie I HAVE YET TO HEAR IT TOO! Point Break were quite an unusual & compelling pop trio in the early noughties. They were darker & not as easily accessible as the likes of 5ive because of their chosen subject matter. Apocadelic was a concept album concerning schizophrenia. One could say they were a concept band as their name alone evokes the breaking point one must feel as your pushed to the brink of of insanity by the voices of blonde curtained sex offender in your head HARROWING!

@harveyderf Yes, see, I think they were far too EDGY to be fully embraced. 5ive sang about boffing & keeping your bowels moving & E17 flirted with political & spiritual questions but did so in a nonthreatening way that still let their cheekiness make the girls SCREAM 4 their STEAM! Point Break took it further, asking the BIG questions, & much like their contemporaries in the Alt world, Alien Ant Farm/ANThology, created a MASTERPIECE that makes us question our very humanity & place on this earth!

@jasonismyhomie yes they were doomed from the outset to fail, as artistry so often is by the mainstream. They were what I like to cool an art-boyband. They painted emotive portraits of life as a paranoid schizophrenic with their whole oeuvre, that hasn't been equaled by anyone yet. As you quite rightly noted though running parallel to them were The Farm and they sure rocked the socks of not only middle America but the middle world!

I know that AAF are HUGE Tolkien fans, & based their complex, existential musings about Reality on both the ether/alien life & the mythic worlds created in pop folklore. Point Break took this a step further, & asked challenging ?'s, such as Do We Rock? Famed Hobbit EWood is perhaps their most ardent & prolific fan, & was once photographed at a PB concert covered in glitter, flailing a HUGE banner stating: "POINT BREAK LIKE TOTALLY RAWKS!" Yes, they do, Elijah!

@jasonismyhomie Oh E-Wood is a truly fortunate soul to have witnessed one of musics, short lived yet incendiary acts live. God if I was so lucky to be that hobbit looking motherfucker I'd be front and centre, starry and googly eyed covered in glitter with my bodyshaking. I've heard that E-Wood may be funding / starring in a movie adaptation of Apocadelic. Sources have told fans to expect 'THE WALL MOVIE but not wanky'. I for one can't wait for news of further casting of this film.

Then if by the grace of god, Touchstone produce this movie, under the helm of Jerry Bruckheimer it's gonna be MAGIC! It will be like their heydey in the later half of the 90s where Nic Cage ruled the box office (oh yes that would be all my dreams come true if hes on baord) and the milieu Point Break flashed and burnt so brightly within. 2011 will be a FREAKY TIME

Declan is now a solo singer and has a couple of albums to his name. If you search Declan Bennett on here, you should be able to find some of his videos. He was also touring in Rent in America (though not sure if he still is).
